Mike,
This thread sent me off on a search that has been enlightening for me. I was familiar with Cyberon Voice Speed Dial, which required voice tags and was included with the second Verizon rom patch. Cyberon Voice Commander just seemed to be confused alot with Microsoft Voice Command on the boards so I didn't realize the distinction until now. Anyway, I can't help you with the CVSD installation problem other than to suggest that you install to the device. Here is a link to the XDA thread that has the CVC files you were originally looking for.

There's some discussion of patching executables from one version to another, so who knows if it works on Apaches. Good luck - there seem to be just as many if not more issues with CVC as with MSVC. Please post if it works. FWIW, here's the main Cyberon web site:

I started my search looking for the registry tweaks that supposedly improve the voice recognition quality for MSVC - I didn't find them until the end - here's the link:

Of course if you use a kitchen-based rom with MSVC (all but the executable) already included, then the optimum tweaks have already been done. Don't give up on MSVC....I found I was most frustrated by:
a) failure to recognize "yes" - this was because I spoke too soon; slow down and give MSVC a chance to listen.
b) Background noise (worse with BT headset) - try the phone mic instead.
Once I accepted its limitations it became much easier to use.
