Hi, Just wanted to add my name to the list of people with this same issue. This has only been happening to me with the WM6, it happens just about everytime I do a soft reset...I has already happened 6 times since thursday (today is saturday) and everytime I have to do a hard reset and lose everything on the phone.

Nobody has specifically mentioned this as an issue in this thread, but just to get all the info about freezes in one place, I think I have confirmed that soft resetting while charging ALWAYS results in needing a hard rest because of getting stuck on the splash screen. I believe I have noticed this on other roms though.

I can soft reset while charging without issue (after deactivating the HTC Home Plug-in of course).

Glad I was able to help....It's too bad, as I liked the HTC Home Plug-in until I found it was causing all of my hard resets!

I am having this issue as well. I noticed it after I installed Windows Live Messaging. I did a soft reset, and i got stuck on the windows mobile boot screen.

Where do I go to disable the HTC Home plug-in?

I'm another one who misses the plug-in, but disabling does definitely fix the issue of getting stuck on the WinMobile green screen. Interestingly, the HTC Plus! plug-in (although it has many less functions) does not have this issue.

To disable the plug-in, go to "Settings", "Today" and uncheck the HTC Home box on the "Items" tab

OK, I firmly believe its Live Messenger causing it. I just hard reset, and everything worked great. I even did alot of soft resets to make sure.

BUT, when I install live messenger, i did a hard reset, and now I am hanging up on boot at the windows mobile screen.

I dont have the HTC Hone plugin installed at all. Any suggestions?

I've noticed this crashing issue as previously mentioned with several different flavors of ROMs, all on AKU 3.x though so far - not on WM6 (yet). Hopefully I'm not jinxing myself. I wasn't running the HTC Home plugin on WM5, so I wouldn't be so quick to blame it on that, although it may be some WM6 combination of the two. I also had crashing issues on WM5 without the messenger app. Maybe it's just a coincidence that those of you who disabled those plugins haven't encountered it again *yet*. I hate to be pessimistic, just being realistic.

Just to be clear, the issues I had with the HTC Home Plug-in were related to Helmi's WM6 ROM. This is the ROM OP mentioned when they started this thread. The HTC Home Plug-in AND Live Messenger are already installed on this ROM, so I'm confused when you state "when I install live messenger". Do you mean when you started to use Live Messenger, or are you using a ROM other than WM6? If not, your problem could be that you're installing a second version of Live Messenger!

The same thing applies to "I dont have the HTC Hone plugin installed at all". Did you mean the HTC Home Plug-in isn't one of the checked items that appear on the Today screen?
