I've been waiting for an Alltel MMS solution since the day this phone was released. I don't believe that there will ever be a solution until Alltel allows it. People have tried and tried to get it to work by using the VZW mms cab but none of the server info tried ever works.

Not working but have some info.

I have been trying the get mms working with alltel for a little while now. I sent one to my phone from a cingular razr. I was able to receive notification of a sms message on my alltel apache. but when i try to download it it would always fail. i was able to turn on DEBUG mode for Arcsoft MMS to create log files of any MMS activity/errors. (there is a setting in the arcsoft registry somewhere.) Some of the mms log files indicate that the mms messege is making it to the mms server but it cant authenticate it. It gives a 407 Proxy authentication required.

(Technical description: 407 Proxy Authentication Required - Supply user ID and password)

I believe that the problem is the mms wsp header info is incorrect for alltel use. i think that there are keys missing and keys that are incorrect.

To get this to work we need to make sure that are mms server/port is correct and look into how the mms is authenticated and what role a wsp header, profile, and user-agent.

Unfortunately, I lost my log files of my mms messages after i HArd Reset. And I am not able to reproduce the results yet. I had a series of .cab files and registry tweaks and cant fide the right combination. dang.

reg info that i think i correct it.

i talked to Alltel tech support about another phone issue with my Treo and i brought up this particular issue and he stated that as of right now the Alltel smartphones operate on a different part of the network than the regular phones and that Alltel is currently trying to get MMS to work on the part of the network the smartphones operate on. i dont know if there is any truth to what he said but it sounded sincere. he said that he also owns a Treo 700wx and alot of people have complained to Alltel about this issue. So... keep those calls to Cust Serv going with complaints about no MMS on smartphones. hopefully they will make the nec. changes.

That's bullcrap. Tech support doesn't know anything about that stuff. I think it's something to do with the MMS gateways. It's not a priority. Alltel doesn't want people to MMS from their smartphones for some reason.

alltel mms

i have tried to get the mms to work on the 700wx and the 6700 i can get it to receive but not send. when it recieves the pic is tiny and in black and white. the issue is in the resegistry. i have an idea of how to get it to work i just need to know how to pull and application from a windows mobile device or how to copy the registry entries from a windows mobile device.

I ca provide any infor from the 6800 to help. I am using the cab from the sprint thread and like i said changed everything in the registry to match my alltel6800. help or tell me what i can to to help
