My stylus is stuck in the phone

I got one of those new styluses that have the pen in them... and the cap came off when I pulled the stylus out instead of the whole thing. As a result the pen part is stuck in the phone and I can't seem to get it out. The only part showing is a the tip of the pen.

I really don't want to take apart the phone. What is the best suggested method of extraction?

If you think taking apart the phone is best, then please tell me how in the best possible detail.

try pushing some thread down (alowing some to hang out), then follow with silicone and allow to cure overnight. slowly pull out string. Hopefully the silicone will also have bonded to the pen and it will pull it out.

Do you still have the plastic cap? Just push it down on the stylus until it clicks into place then pull it out. I've done it a couple of times, and was worried once when the top went flying - couldn't find it immediately... The top piece loosens ocasionally, so this happens. Push it back on and you should be fine...

Unless you are missing the plastic cap - in which case I'd go for some very fine needle nose pliers...

I have the cap and it won't pull it out. I've tried several times. The back end of the stylus should screw off. That's a design flaw on their part... stupid.

The same thing happens with my friend's 6700 and pen stylus... It's things like these that keep me from getting one of those.

it wouldn't be a problem if hte cap screwed off... instead it just has a ridge. It's a design flaw.

My suggestion would be use a small pair of needle-nose pliers to gently grab the end of the pen and extract it.

Taking apart the back of the 6700 is not for the faint of heart, but do-able. you'll need a jewlers phillips screwdriver and a #6 torx driver. First remove the battery. Unscrew the 2 visible screws on the camera cover and remove it. Remove the camera PCB, camera and flash. remove the torx screws and gently snap off the back. The stylus port should be visible, and should be easy to get out. It would be a good time to check the little nylon fitting that holds the stylus in to see if it's bent, causing the sticking. Reassemble in reverse, being careful to get the camera focus lever in the catch. Power up and run the camera to make sure it's connector is seated. If the camera works and the lever changes the focus, you're in good shape. Good luck.

try to hold your phone in your right hand with the antenna pointing to the left..

bring your two hands together and with your left hand slap your wrist of the right hand.. if you do this a few times the force should cause the stylus to pop out..
