The only reason you would need a cab file to install MMS is if you flashed the "GENERIC" ROM. If that is the case, make sure you install the cab file that carriers your cellular operators picturemail settings.

Media player does not have a shortcut due to TCPMP being installed and having a shortcut. By default however "ALL" media will default to the builtin windows media player. To use TCPMP, you will need to go into the settings menu and then "file associations" and check off which media files you would like TCPMP to be the default player for.

In case your wondering I have not gone with CorePlayer retail because it will not stream "Orb" media streams in either audio or video. On top of that it adds absolutely no functionality, albeit Coreplayer is really nice looking ><
Thanks J...

I flashed the GENERIC ROM bc I thought that was the one I was suppose to flash if I didn't know how to do the manual update. I don't see TCPMP in Programs, settings, etc, any suggestions? I'm guessing that since TCPMP is the default I can't add WMP to my quick launch tab...correct?

Oh and my activesync keeps opening up by itself...like every 20 mins. I close it and when I check again, its open. Any way to stop this?

its in programs under "Coreplayer"
activesync opens everytime your phone syncs the time from the network. just leave it running, it takes up almost no resources. You can add WMP to the quicklaunch by either making a shortcut to it manually or just browse over directly to the exe for it in the /WINDOWS/ directory.

sure is normal, i think prediction and t9 is garbage and annoying when i type. You can just re-enable it in the registry. I dont have a link offhand for where that change is made, but if you find my old mario 9.6 thread or my unified thread the FAQ will show you how to re-enable it.

Does this rom include A2DP? i just bought a jabra bt620s and it pairs and says that it is paired with the headset and avrc profile, but no music. i can hear the clicks and tones when i am selecting a program or typing, but when i try to play something in core player or windows media player there is no sound. thanks in advance for your help.

A lot of people are asking me about a wm6 ROM based lightly on the beta kitchen release done by verizonguy (good work btw). I have defenitely been working with the new kitchen, modifying my OEM packages accordingly, updating programs etc.

But.....

I have not found WM6 to be any more stable than AKU3.5 and there is a general "slowness" with the operating system. The operating system itself is also HUGE, which means a ton of the built-in apps I have come to take for granted in everyday use, just plain dont fit into the ROM.

I love the "Look & Feel" of wm6, i LOVE the glossy bars, the alpha blended looking icons, the sound scheme, the slickness of it all really.

I dont like, the overall slowness of app launching, the weird power drain issues at idle w/ no applications loaded and some incompatibilities here and there with some applications in regards to building them into the ROM.

I hope, and I am pretty sure that these are simply "beta" kitchen type issues. So once we have something a wee bit more stable, ill take the plunge and grab my chef hat.

Thank you all for being patient and supportive of this now "Legacy" WM5 ROM.

Hope to see you on WM6 soon!
