I have enabled it, but still no anouncement. I have tried Bluetooth only, Bluetooth when available and Speaker only. None seem to work. I even turned off only during free time. Not sure where else to look.

PM me and i will send you the files that will allow you to reinstall the application fresh. If there is any issue for some reason on your handset this should alleviate it.

EDIT

In the wm6 bug thread there is an "apache" fix for caller announcement that does not seem to be WM6 specific. Here is the link, keep me posted!

Already tried that, no luck. I am not sure why it is not working, when I receive a call a new folder get created in the Application Data\Volatile\ directory which should have the TTSCallerID.wav file (text to speech), but when I look in the new folder is is always empty.

I have tried a fresh build without the HTC Home Tab plugin to see if that could have been causing an issue, it did not work. But not having the plugin I notice the only way to get to my Outlook Email is to add the Inbox plugin to the Today Screen. I have tried to find the email exe but only found poutlook.exe which does not open my inbox.

you can remap it to a hardware key, you could also use the wm5newmenu to map a softkey to it, and 3rd, you can just change the reg entry for the left softkey "112" from sms to email. Im pretty sure you can get there from programs also, if not though ill make a shortcut to it next release under programs

I tried using the wm5newmenu, email. The bottom softkeys flash but then go back to the today screen, Email never opens.

I cant confirm if this is just "my phone" but im pretty sure something im doing is screwing it up i just dont know what. For now at least well have to deal with it.... seeing as how WM6 is just around the corner this may be the shortest lived release ive ever made haha.
I'm guessing you haven't found a solution for this since it's not written here.
The problem is that the Sounds & Notifications are checking your storage card for files.
You probably have a bunch of audio files on there, and it takes a while to sort them all.
I was having the same issue, and my wife, running the same ROM did not. I figured out that the difference was the amount of audio files on the storage card.
Try removing your card, reseting, and going to those spots. Works perfect. Not a fix, but at least I know why it's broke
