is my new 6700 dead?

ok,, i bought the device yesterday(new) and did the rom update, installed novii remote and magic button, everything was working fine after i did all that, but then i let my bro borrow the phone and when i got it bad the touchscreen wasnt responding

, i tried to align the screen but i couldnt even do that because i can't even tap it, the joy stick works fine thou.. any thoughts on this? should i return this today or is there a setting to enable thouch screen on the phone again? please help a knoob out
