is my new 6700 dead?

ok,, i bought the device yesterday(new) and did the rom update, installed novii remote and magic button, everything was working fine after i did all that, but then i let my bro borrow the phone and when i got it bad the touchscreen wasnt responding , i tried to align the screen but i couldnt even do that because i can't even tap it, the joy stick works fine thou.. any thoughts on this? should i return this today or is there a setting to enable thouch screen on the phone again? please help a knoob out

i have been doing it like crazy, even erased all programs... now its back to normal it sucks thou, i hope it doesnt give me anymore problems after the return period is over. now back to intall

I think ur doing soft resets, a hard reset it to hold both soft keys and press the soft reset hole in the bottom. this will wipe the device to like it was b4 u got it. try it and let me know.

yes, it worked after i did the hard reset but it didnt fix it right away i had to let it sit ther for like 1 hr. because i couldnt past the screen align thing,, im starting to think maybe the screen protector had something to do with it

hahaa, yeah, that protector that came with it will mess you up

not that inflicts the performance, it jsut wont let you tap whre u are meaing to tap

did you try removing the battery first before doing a hard reset. if it happens again, try removing your battery for at a minute or so. also a good program to have is sprite backup. its a good program to use to backup your phone incase something like this happens again.
