Glad you found the offending app.
Just for completeness, I will add that I had the same problem with Smartskey installed. Removing it took care of the problem.

iF you use memmaid or sktools, tweak it so that the system runs at most stable performace. Ever since I did that I don't think i've been experiencing any problems.

also what's up when I turn my phone back on after it went to sleep. The today screen appears instantly, then all the items disappear for a few seconds, then they return again. The problem is, sometimes as it's refreshing I get those notification problems (clocknot, spbnotify).
