Re: WM 6.1 and 6.5 Roms released! all requested booloader versions up!
Hi, I've tried to upgrade my xv6700 VZW to WM6.5 BT 2.02, but nothing, I always get "Invalid ROM" error, I dont know why, because I'm trying with correct BL, right, or there's something else I'm missing.
This info may help to find the correct rom XV6700 Verizon BL 2.02 (the number below on BL mode) H/W=2 M=12 U=4 P SNAZ-40306 R 1.10.00 D 3.60.70 WWE

Re: WM 6.1 and 6.5 Roms released! all requested booloader versions up!
It's too bad there is no more support for these pages. You should take them down if everything is outdated. PPC kitchen no longer exists. I can't even search the internet for "how to install a custom ROM". Everything is a video of how to use PPCKitchen. This sucks. I have several custom ROMs I've downloaded, but this is just a sea of crap. Nowhere is there a simple answer of how to install a custom ROM. Everybody says JUST BUILD YOUR OWN. So I have this:
21202_apache_100.rar I want to install it on this: 1.05.00 WWE with 1.00 BL |

Re: WM 6.1 and 6.5 Roms released! all requested booloader versions up!
So, I downloaded Tinkerbell's custom ROM for the xv6700 and it worked. Simple to use, I just plugged in my phone and clicked install. The only thing is the battery sucks juice, so I want an OS that is both user friendly and battery friendly. Also, I need to be able to run QNC on PagePlus and tether my phone to a Macbook, probably surfing the internet on Opera mini browser for laptop. Also, want to be able to get everything else that was disabled by Verizon and would love to be able to get call waiting while I'm using the data connect (QNC). I am not sure, but I don't think a call will get through to me while I'm using the cellular line to access dial-up speed-QNC data. (I also remember) - XV6700 wouldn't accept calls while on wifi, but I think that was fixed in one of the custom ROMs (maybe Helmi's). Anyways, I have Tinkerbell's ROM, one of the only ones still available and it seems to be the best. But I don't want the pink keyboard and still need to know what is the best ROM (available?) for feature rich, yet battery conscious use?

Re: WM 6.1 and 6.5 Roms released! all requested booloader versions up!
Holy god, PPCKitchen went down? I've been away FAR too long.
Are you looking for custom ROMs, or are you wanting to learn how to make one? There should be plenty of them on this forum or over at XDA. If you want to learn how to make a custom ROM, dig through the archives here and over at XDA. It's much more complicated than PPCKitchen, but it is doable. I'd make you a ROM myself but all my Apaches are RIP.
