Guys Help Me Out Here!

Hi,

I got my xv6700 without dataplan a year back (had them disable the dataplan). Currently i have Helmi's 1.0.4 rom and I've always used WLAN to connect to the internet.

I was trying to send mms message but it didnt work. i found a post about setting up MMS [VERIZON MMS STEPS- DETAILED] but that didnt work for me. on the Connect Via: option, i have "The Internet". and when i try to send a mms it says message delivery failed (something along those lines). i have removed #777 connetion coz that dont work for me since i dont have dataplan.

Anyone without dataplan on verizon has MMS working? please guide me on this. Or do i have to have a dataplan to use mms?

also do i have to call em up to enable the plan or is there some kinda hack to enable it myself?

any help appreciated

Thanks

My experience is that Verizon requires the originating IP address to the MMS server to be on the Verizon Wireless network. When I have an 802.11 connection going, the MMS server rejects my outgoing MMS messages. If I disconnect the 802.11 and use VZW instead, it sends fine.

I just figured that they deny requests from non-VZW IP addresses.

You dont have to have an unlimted data plan or anything, but you do need to have that #777 connection. The reason for this, is that you have to be able to connect to the data network to send the message. However, when sending messages, this does not count as data usage, so it does not charge you extra. Basically, you dont need a data plan, but you need to be able to connect to the data network.

okay i made #777 connection with
username: my10digitnumber@vzw . com [ignore space, wont let me post link ]
password: vzw (also tried with blank)
domain: blank

when i tried to connect with this connection i get
Error Code 37:
Error Code 37 Misc error setting up Mobile IP

Could this be because of my data plan is disabled ?
