I'm in Huntsville AL, I have a 100% signal strength (thats what MS Voice command says). i get 2-3 bars all the time. During phone calls i get 1x otherwise i have EV.

I'm lost then. I'm gonna have to say its where you got them to specifically turn data connections off. You'll have to call them and explain the situation. You'll probably have to get data services turned back on, just dont use them other than for send messages if you dont want to be charged. You dont get charged for using the data network for sending messages, but you will if you use it for anything else.

thanks phoenx06. so there's no other way to resolve this?
theres gotta be someone with the same problem .. help me if you know a way to fix it.

Just an FYI before you get a huge bill, if you do turn data back on, make sure to set up a non working numer to dial, or use something like Modaco Nodata to turn off the data when you are not using it.
