EVDO not working

Hi everyone.

I was wondering if anyone could help me out with getting EVDO working on my phone. The indicator on my phone has the Ev before I connect to the network. But when I connects to the network it always end up being a 1x network. I am in troy, ny and it definitely is supposed to have Evdo coverage here. when I initiate the connection I have 4 bars should it should be strong enough. Do I have to change something on my phone to get it to work with Evdo? I have called spring and they said I am provisioned for Evdo

Thanks a lot

What carrier are you with? I had a similar problem with SPrint last year. I was trying to figure out why I was not connecting with EVDO in a definate EVDO area.

I was using Internet Sharing for internet access on my deswktop and laptop, but could only connect with 1X @230 kbps, and not EVDO @ 1.2 Mbs.

I checked with sprint and my Power Vision Plan had EVDO turned off. So they activated it, again. Ever since, I have been able to connect @ 1.2Mbps..
