Phoenx06 Sprint/Verizon C&S 1.0.4 ROM (UPDATED! 08/10/07

Updated! New as of 8-10-07! Here is the updated version of my C&S ROM built from the Helmi 3.5 1.0.4 kitchen. I've made some changes and included all the newest fixes. Verizon rom is now up!

Basics: (*=new to 1.0.4 as compared to 1.0.2)
- Removed MSN, added WIndows Live/Messenger/Search
- Removed ClearStorage (does anyone really not know how to hard reset?)
- Added 1Calc 3.0 Lite
- Added HTC X-Button (now located as task manager in Settings)
- Added Fix Unread Count (found under settings)
- Added Mark all as read extension
- Added NullKeyboard (keep that damn keyboard from popping up)
- Added FdcSoft PimBackup
- Added SoftKeyApplet (change softkeys, located in settings)
- Added TotalCommander
- Added New Comm Manager
- Added Esmertek Java
- Added ExtROM Unlock
- *Added HTC 6-tab Home Plugin (replaced HTC WMP Today Plugin)
- *Added Office 2007 (replaces old office programs)
- *Added PPC/XV6700 Hack program (a program composed of many popular hacks)
- *Added Oxios Memory (two handy programs to reclaim unsed memory)
- *Removed Firmware updates program (really wth is it for anyway, lol)

This ROM has all the needed carriers cabs built in! So, after flashing, when it goes to install all the sprint customizations, just soft reset (soft reset when it says cutomizing in 3 seconds). You dont need the stuff in your extrom, so if you want, use ExtROM Unlock to unlock and delete the stuff in it. I always leave me extrom alone, in case I need it at a later date, but hey, its your phone!

Sprint:

Verizon:

The Sprint rom hasn't changed from the upload yesterday, but now the Verizon rom is up. Hope you guys like it!

el_venga 07-18-2007 05:32 PM

downloading now, i hope its enough for me. my opinion tomorow.

raybudd 07-18-2007 10:04 PM

Does this rom have any of the popular reg tweaks? What about Bluetooth and MMS?

phoenx06 07-18-2007 10:14 PM

No reg tweaks, basically pretty stock rom. But yeah, it has the mms stuff.

el_venga 07-19-2007 09:41 AM

rom works great!, only takes like 25 secs from boot screen to today screen. i hope next custom roms will be great. thx phoenx06!

Shaska 07-19-2007 12:21 PM

Indeed, Thanks for a nice base rom that people can use. Now the people who dont mind installing a few cabs by hand can go crazy with the upgrades in that new bell mobility rom...

mjstallion 07-19-2007 06:27 PM

Does this include the radio 1.41 upgrade ?

phoenx06 07-19-2007 06:29 PM

No, but if you want it just click on the link in my signature

tmpid 07-19-2007 07:54 PM

My ppc6700 was on Kirvin's C&S. Just now I upgraded it to radio 1.4 and it won't start up with soft reset. Have to do a hard reset. Then I upgraded it with the Phoenx06_C&S3.5_Sprint package. On hard reset, it stuck at the dark screen (shows serial v2.2). Now I am restoring it to the stock 2.06 WWE. Hopefully it will boot up and I'll try Phoenx06_C&S3.5_Sprint again and radio 1.4 later.

Did the Phoenx06_C&S3.5_Sprint address the issues in the "Helmi Official AKU 3.5 Kitchen 1.0.2 Bugs / Patches"? Particularly I am interested in the issues with OEM_PhoneExt_Service.dll and BT DUN. So the ROM will have both the old wmodem and and the new internet sharing and BT PAN?

tmpid 07-19-2007 08:47 PM

Stock 2.06 boots fine. Flashed again to Phoenx06_C&S3.5_Sprint, still won't boot. Strange. Now I am back to Kirvin's C&S.

el_venga 07-19-2007 10:57 PM

i was using that same rom before i changed to phoenx06's c&s sprint and no problem but to disable sprint IOTA, which i did.

flyingjoey 07-19-2007 11:56 PM

You guys know how the old saying goes... "Keep it Simple Stupid"

This ROM is the perfect example of that.

Simple, Light, fast and functional. I just loaded it on my PPC6700. This one is without a doubt a Keeper.

Dude... Keep up the great work.

tmpid 07-20-2007 02:16 AM

OK. I copied the nk.nbf from phoenx06 to Kirvin's C&S and flashed. Now my ppc6700 boots fine. Seems that the problem is with the flashing program APACUpgradeUt_noID.exe.

Did a quick test. PhoneExt_Service.dll was fixed with AKU2 version. BT DUN does not work, either with wmodem or without wmodem.

Simple and cool. Great work. Now I am thinking if I should cook my own to fix the BT DUN and change the start up pic.

fgloryofgod23 07-21-2007 10:30 AM

hey guys, after updating to this rom, apparently my friends are getting multiple text messages from me. it never happened before the rom update. any ideas?

btw, rom is great ^^.

But no tweaks? like cache...or menu ani stuff like that?

Yay 4 Juggs 07-21-2007 09:27 PM

I may add some reg tweks and stuff, but hardly any more apps. This is a Clean and Simple rom, its made for those who dont want all that extra stuff. That way if they want anything else, they can add it via cabs. I'll be working on a clean and simple for other carrier pretty soon, as well as an update for the sprint one. Right now I'm in Canada though on vacation, basically drinking my face off. I'll check in when I can, and I'll try to get some stuff done on the new one.

Yay 4 Juggs 07-21-2007 11:03 PM

threaded sms? or stock sms?

Yay 4 Juggs 07-22-2007 12:51 AM

mms is not working actually...going to view pic brings up pocket ie but you cant do anything but see a little one by one pic...the problem lies within the version of pocket ie that is being used...can one from an original rom be pulled and put into place with this one?

fgloryofgod23 07-22-2007 09:08 AM

palm threaded. when i had the no junk sprint rom, palm thread never gave me a problem... i want to keep this rom but not using palm thread is very annoying.... any ideas?
thanks

First and foremost, a huge THANKS to Phoenx06 for making something even the ROM noob can handle. My phone totally flaked out on me this evening, so I upgraded to this ROM and so far so good. It boots so much faster now, so I'm pretty happy.

A few quick questions, if you don't mind:

- So after the upgrade and subsequent hard reset, I did the soft reset before the Sprint customizations ran and manually installed the required Sprint cabs.

- I then had this /Extended ROM2 directory at the top level, which contained all the extended cabs I could run. After running the needed Sprint cabs, I deleted the remaining contents. However, I still have the directory (said it can't be deleted). Looks like it has 10M of storage...can I save programs to it?

Thanks!
- Doug :-)

masterdeals 07-23-2007 10:42 PM

Thanks for the efforts in compiling this. I'm a first time user and it works great - noticabally faster click response.

I am also using your radio update.

Is there a list of registry tweaks you would recomend for this version? Would it be the same type of things as people use in the stock version?

Thanks

I think he said that the necessary Sprint programs were already installed with his software, rather just run the program, hard reset, and then soft reset before the sprint installer runs.

What did you install after that? I'm guessing it may be stuff that was already there if necessary, or something not necessary?

I think you can put storage there, but it is the home of the factory software, which you may want if you ever need to go back or turn the phone in for warranty replacement, etc.

Not sure, I'm very new here.

DougB 07-24-2007 01:38 AM

Well, I did a soft reset installking programs and such and the contents of the Ext_ROM2 folder reappeared. Guess I don't have the ability to remove them.

OK, now for the next question: On my old ROM I had made a registry change (which I now forget) that enabled me to open the Bluetooth audio gateway by pressing the button on my BT headset. I never use VC or the Cyberon Voice Dialer, but found the ability to send GPS commands and such over the mic very useful.

I'd like to make the same registry change to this ROM...I know it's probably posted elsewhere, but believe me I've searched...I just keep getting VC-via-BT-headset-button threads and posts.

Many thanks to anyone who can help me out.

Man, this ROM is fast compated to my old AKU 2.0 setup.

Thanks again!

- Doug

Awesome!

This is the first time that I have installed a custom ROM and it works great!

Thanks for all the hard work!

Love the ease of setup on this Rom.
Last night I was trying to use my phone on the internet. For some reason I could only connect sporadically. Even wireless was connecting but not getting thru to websites or email. A screen popped up askinf for user name, password and domain.I didn't know what to do. Soft reset, and sam problem. Today eveything works great. Any thoughts?

knightmare 07-25-2007 11:59 AM

toggleBT?

How do I get it to work so that I can listen to my mp3s on my bluetooth headet? I tried running it, it pops up saying "no voice trained" then when I click OK it goes away...

Help?

phguy65 07-26-2007 07:54 AM

very impressive

I gotta hand to the people to put this ROM together, it is really quite impressive. I am a 'low level' geek and was a little nervous about flashing the new rom. But it went without a hitch and damn if it doesnt really look and run great. Thanks!

I just have to say it is amazing how far the technology has come, I started with a Samsung I330 a few years back and I thought that was the greatest thing since...But I LOVE my apache.

neko988 07-30-2007 09:07 PM

Is this updated with the new Bell 3.1.3?

phoenx06 07-31-2007 03:01 PM

The current one I have uploaded was using the Helmi 3.5 1.0.2 kitchen, which was created with some help from the Bell rom. I will be creating some more, and for more carriers here soon. I know I've been saying this for awhile, but more and more stuff keeps coming out! So, now that I finally have a working computer of my own (thats a whole other story), I should get some new C&S roms out made from the new 1.0.3 kitchen.

sammieboy 07-31-2007 03:24 PM

phoenx06, I have installed your Phoenx06 C&S Helmi 3.5 1.0.2 Sprint ROM (07/18/07). I love it. It works great and my phone is awesome!!

Only 1 issue though, My text msg'ing is screwed up. Now when someone text msg's me, the msg does not display who it is from or their phone number. Instead, in the subject line, it displays the first word from the text msg itself. I have no idea who text's me.

I really don't want to uninstall your custom rom. It is amazing. Do you have any idea what could have gone wrong?

I really really really appreciate your help in this.

dmackdaddy 07-31-2007 03:47 PM

Right on man! Please keep us posted! I have 6 6700s that I need to test and I know Goodlink works on 3.1.3 but I'd like to also check on your latest Sprint.

Yeah, I'll be a little busy tonight, so I dont think I'll have time to cook and upload them all, so it'll probably be tomorrow or the day after

tmpjb 08-02-2007 08:34 AM

same issue

I'm having the exact same problem. Anybody have an easy fix?

phoenx06 08-02-2007 08:56 AM

Try changing
HLKM\Comm\Cellular\SMS\Protocol\Text from HTC_SMS_Providers.dll to SMS_Providers.dll

Or you can just wait till I put out my new releases of the C&S roms, here pretty soon. I was planning on having them out tonight, but I may wait till the new kitchen comes out. I always find it best to have the newest and greatest

Same here. Phoenix, I tried the reg change (removing HTC_ from the value). No luck with it, still experiencing same behavioir.

A 2nd minor glitch is when I go to load IE, or pocket informant and switch from landscape to portrait. I'll try and describe my actions and what the result is. I go to load a program either from today plug in, start menu or hard key, the program starts to load, I slide the screen up to switch to landscape, and whatever program I was trying to start flashes on the screen for a split second and then it dissapears. Doesn't show under running programs either.

Those two issues aside, this is by far THE BEST rom I have come across. Awesome work my friend.
