i just installed the version dated 8/10 and it is very nice. I love the new HTC home plugin. It makes the device much more friendly for 1-handed and finger operation.

I think the best ROM I tried in last 4 weeks. Very stable and super fast.

is there a trick to working the rapidshare site? there's no obvious download radio buttons when I use the link in the initial posting. How do i do this?

i notice that the active sync keeps running on even though i shut it off. is there a way to keep that turned off?

yeah this is a great rom and I am enjoying it right now. I like many of the new programs and it seems pretty stable. I have had a couple of issues with it having some decent lag/delay. And it froze up on me one time where I had to reset it. I was looking up a contact and someone called and it just froze and nothing would work. But no problem after a reset. Over all it seems the last C&S rom you built ran just slightly smoother but this one has some great extras.

i am fighting flashing back to this rom after kirvin released his i loved all the extras but remote desktop just took too much space and palm threader seems to work a little crazy

great rom u are giving kirvin a run for his $, if u loose remote desktop u will have a super rom

Just flashed to my phone. Looks and works great. However, seems a lil slower (sluggish) than the previous ROM. No Sprint CAB's installed and not using HTC Home plugin.

Or maybe I'm just expecting too much out of this phone :)

works pretty good so far, although I miss some of the themes from last rom. only proble I've come across is in thehtc home plug in x it switched my ringer to vibrate last night while I was sleeping, without me doing anything. is there any way to edit this ? I don't see any options on when it automatically changes? this isn't good for someone like me who is waiting on a transplant and needs the phone to be on :(
any ideas?

thanks phoenx06, great rom, but do u know how to use the new internet sharing, usb connection? if not ill just keep using the wireless modem.

When you select toggle bt it works but then voice dial opens up and then it cuts out, do you know how to fix this?

Correct me if I'm wrong here.........

Start your dial-up connection (go on the web or check mail or Live Search, etc.)

Run "Internet Sharing"
Press "Connect"
Connect USB cable and your PC will install the modem driver and you are on!

I have had soooo many issues with my vx6700 not working up to par, I installed the verizon ROM last night and thus far LOVE it... THANKS!!!

First time on these forums, found this site through another PDA fan site and someone posted about these "kitchen" roms.

I loaded this ROM last night and wow, I was really impressed with it. My XV6700 has always been slow and unresponsive at times ever since I've had it and moreso after I loaded some apps. The difference is like night and day and it's made my PPC more fun to use now.

So thanks a bunch phoenx06... great work!

BTW, what does C&S mean? :) The reason why I came here was initially for Helmi_APAC_Official_AKU3_5_Kitchen_1_0_4. But after seeing that this was specifically made for the XV6700, I decided to use this instead.

Clean and Simple. Many of the first generation custom ROMs were people's personal builds, meaning they came preloaded with stuff you might not want. C&S builds are designed to be functional but streamlined, with a minimum of third party stuff.

Been a while since I updated ROM so not sure I did it right. Just did the 1.0.4 and 1.41 Radio updates. Everything looks different but the Device Info shows ROM version:3.12,30 WWE, ROM date:04/25/07 and Radio version:1.41.00. Is this correct or did I do something wrong?

Let me guess-- Intel "Centrino" wireless? WPA security on your access point?

The cause is bad Intel drivers. The problem was fixed earlier this year so update your WiFi drivers and that won't happen anymore.

I've just installed this rom on Verizon, and I know that MMS has problems with 3.5, but I don't even seem to have access to mms. Is this normal? I also can't receive picture messages. Other than that, this is awesome! Great job.

Ahh, I like clean and simple. :) Makes it easy for me to start clean and install crap and make it slow again... lol. j/k. C&S is the perfect build for me.

First, this ROM and its predecessor rock. I did my first ROM upgrade with Phoenx06's initial 3.5 build, but after the flawless install it took me about 3 full hours to get all my programs installed on it and the thing sync'd with all my email and exchange accounts.

So the 1.0.4 version came along, so I used SPB Backup to make a backup of all my loaded programs and configurations, used the bootloader to flash the new 1.0.4 ROM, and then restored from my backup. All my programs cae out well...all I had to do was redo my Office shortcuts to reference the new apps.

BUT, one thing I liked on the 1.0.4 Today screen (before I restored from the backup) was the LiveSearch field. How can I get that back (or, how can I install that on my device?)?

You should be able tom find it in Start->Settings->Today->Items

I would have thought so too, but it's not there. It seems that SPB Backup must wipe out anything on the device that's not par of the backup (but minus what's in the ROM...though if that were the case, I'm not sure why the Today item would be gone).

Strange....no biggie if there's no easy CAB install just for the today item. It would be awesome if there were, though.

Well my first try with this new ROM has crashed and burned. I installed it and skipped the Verizon updates in the EXT_ROM and when I try to do the roaming update after the upgrade it says that it can't program the phone.

Now trying the version from the UTStarcomm website -- went back to Kirvian's and still having problems. Need to go to stock ROM so when I call support I can possibly fix this....we will see.

did anyone noticed how the dialpad looks when you put the phone in landscape mode? it doesn't show properly... otherwise great rom :)

A few small things about the newest ROM.

- in the dialer, the Sprint logo is a bit off screen on the top.
- my keyboard pops up anytime i go to text messaging or anthing like that, regardless of if i have the keyboard slide opened.
- After a few hours, the whole thing just gets slow and somewhat unresponsive. I try to keep everything closed, activesync likes to be open all the time, need to figure out how to disable that until i manually open it.

Ok, new update -- breathing easier.
 

I went back to the stock rom last night and still no go on programming the phone. I decided to check out the Verizon website to see if there was anything there. And guess what -- they were having some issues on the website itself with things.

To make a long story very short I crashed and when I got up this morning I tried to reprogram the phone again and it worked! So I reinstalled phoenx06's rom and went to do the *22899 update and voila! It works!

Great looking rom, just need to decide if I really like the HTC Today plugin or not. Otherwise great job.....and thanks.

I just installed the sprint version, and now EVDO doesn't work. I get this error instead of it dialing #777:

Cannot connect with current connection settings. To change your connection settings, tap Settings.

So I had to add the connection again, to dial #777, but I don't remember what the username/password should be. This is the first rom I've used where it didn't work out of the box.

Verizon version here. The Live Search text entry box on the Today screen will not allow me to enter any of the top letters on the keyboard. It always enter the NUMBER of the particular key. Try to type "Q" and I'll get a "1"....a "T" will type a "5", etc. Anyone else?

leave them blank. Upon first connection it will ask for them again and again leave them blank with the Remember Password box checked. It shouldn't ask you again after this.

same here... but I'v noticed this to always be the case with live search... no matter what rom you use...

Is it possible to make this one a generic? I know I am being picky, but I really really like my blue Qwest logo and want it for my splash screen and my dialer. Help?

I loaded it today and it runs nice so far. By the way, I was able to get Good Messaging loaded on this ROM. I was unable to get it running on Colonel's 3.5.
