Need help - No incoming calls
Hi all,
I'm new to the forum, but have been reading and installing ROMs over the past 8 months. For the past several months, I have been running Kirvin's 3.5 ROM and had very few problems. I wanted to get windows live and try out some other ROMs so I installed the Phoenx06 Sprint ROM. I also updated the radio. First impressions were great. A day or so later, I realized I was receiving no incoming calls, voice mail notifications, or text messages. Outgoing calls and data worked fine. I assumed this was due to the radio update, so I re-loaded the old official aku2 sprint ROM. That included the radio (don't recall the verison). This did not solve the problem, however. I then took it to a sprint service center...and they installed an updated radio (and I'm sure other things) which fixed the issue. With no fear....I reinstalled the Phoenx06 Sprint ROM and again received no incoming calls. I then installed Kirvin's 3.5 ROM but having the same issue. Any thoughts? Hse anyone else experienced this? |

Dialup Whitout becomes text messages too
I have hard reset this twice to try and isolate the issue it seems to happen if I mess with the registry hacks. I am trying it now without doing any hacks at all to see if it happens again.

Weirdest issue happening...
Ok, so I am now on my 2nd replacement 6700 after the last one fell and the LCD screen cracked. I just received it and was attempting to flash this with Phoenx06_C&S3.5_1.0.4_Verizon. I've never had a problem with my previous two 6700s. Now, for some reason, I am getting the "Error 150" Message about it not being made for this device. I've done various research so far and even flashed it with the Verizon ROM from UT Starcom (which flashed properly). I am using a Windows XP SP2 machine. Any suggestions on how to get resolve this? I love the Phoenx version. It was very stable and I got really used to that large Clock and app chooser for the Today screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Looks like your UTStarcom update flashed you with a new bootloader; the upgrade utility included with Phoenx06's rom will not work with it. Like most people around here I would recommend upgrading to the Helmi_c/PPCGeeks WM6 Kitchen (where you cook your own rom.) If you insist on sticking with Phoenx's rom, then here's a possible fix. 1. Check your bootloader version (push the reset button while pressing and holding the power and record/notes buttons simultaneously; read the number at the bottom of the dark screen.) Your's is likely 1.04 or 2.05. If it's 2.05, you must revert your bootloader. Go here http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=7820; read the whole thread and follow the steps in the first post exactly - critical steps there. Then proceed to step 2. If BL=1.04, go to step 2. 2. Download and run the WM6 kitchen installer (You don't need the OEM files since we're only trying to grab the update utility from the kitchen). 3. If necessary, open Phoenx06's download file using winrar (get a trial at rarlabs.com) to expose the underlying file structure. Find the nk.nbf file - which is the rom image. 4. Copy Phoenx's nk.nbf file and paste it into the following folder which was created when you installed the kitchen: c:\BuildOS\Upgrade\NewBootloader_RUU. 5. Put your phone in Bootloader mode, connect to the XP box using good USB connection, and run the ROMUpgradeUt.exe located in the same folder where you just pasted the nk.nbf. 6. Hard Reset when complete. Please post back your experience. I've never done exactly these steps, but there's no reason I can see that it shouldn't work.

Thank you!
Thanks so much TMB!
That worked perfect! I guess I was a victim of not wanting to change just yet. I attempted to try the Helmi version, but kept having or losing USB connection issues. Just wanted to go back to the Phoenx one for now. Excellent. This worked great! Oh and FYI, I had the 1.04 Bootloader. How weird is that that a replacement phone would have new stuff? haha |
