*228 to program Verizon gets Alltel HELP

I have searched and searched and am stuck. I am using the Verizon 6700. I am in Verizon home area. The phone even receives EV signal. The signals are very strong.

Phone says "Verizon Wireless"

When I dial *228 to program I keep getting Alltel.

Is there a way to block Alltel and get to the Verizon signal to program?

I even tried *22899 and it also dials to Alltel.

Thanks!

you need to manually download and install the verizon prl...

http://corolada.com/prl/verizon/50855.prl

-Download that file, and copy it over to your phone.
-Go to the phone and type ##775# (##PRL#).
-Enter your MSL Number (6 digit unlock code, verizon is all 0's)
-Follow prompts
-Browse to where you extracted the update file, select it, done!

Once that is done, I'd still do one over the air, using *228 or *22899 to ensure you have the latest/proper one for your plan, but that one should atleast get you to verizon.

The only reason I know all of that is that long ago, while I was a noob, I flashed a rom that had an extended rom, and it ran, and when I dialed *228, nothing happened, but when I dialed *2, a sprint rep answered So, I figured out how to do it, and all was good. Hope it gets you going.
