Shortcuts

I was reading through the PDF to prepare for my first attempt at a build, and noticed something that I've seen in other places as well. Here is as good a place as any to point it out, I suppose. The number in the front of the pound sign for the shortcut text in an lnk file is officially supposed to be the length of the shortcut text after the #. For example,

Code:
40#\Windows\MyApp.exe parameter1 parameter2
See for example MSDN library page ms861519.aspx (can't post as a link, too much a newbie on the board )

Just fyi, not a big deal. Thanks for all the hard work to get things to where they are!

Not enforced, just a leftover from windows CE (Pegasus) 1.0

I know, because it used to be one of those common errors.

By 1995, Microsoft figured out how to read a string into a buffer

Haha!

But it's a good bit of trivia for people who may have been wondering just what that "random" number meant.

What rom did you have that allowed this to work? I'm currently running the latest version of Helmi's kitchen, and I just bought a TomTom910 for my wife.
I would definitely like to have the bluetooth DUN working also.

****Nevermind****
Saw your post in the other "newer" thread.

I used "Search" and ended up in this older thread. I posted in the other thread now.

Agreed, just thought it was interesting to point out that the number wasn't really random.

Talking xstreamXM alternative....

My vx6700 has never run better....!

www xstreamxm com/mobile
I noticed it doesn't work on mine either, (I am running the 3.5). I even went so far as to purchase some really crappy software called Mobile Satellite 1.5 (it's crappy because they don't give you all the XM Channels with the "base" price of $17.95, you have to pay another $10 for the expansion pack to get MOST of the channels and there's still some missing - which of course they don't tell you until AFTER you buy the software.

But searching around this site I found another site similar to xstreamxm, except that it works on 3.5 - called mobile.musicdock.com. It works fine with this build and it's FREE!
