Water Logged Apache

I got my phone back from the company i plow driveways for today, it had been in the snow for about a month, and all of it melted on top of it im sure. I'm hoping no one attemted to turn it on.

I completely dissambled the phone about 5 mins ago and all of the components are now on a towel drying out in front of my computer on a towel.

How long do you think i should let it dry out?

P.S- I found no evidence of water in the phone when i took it apart, a little bit of dust, and some of the metal was discolored in a few very small areas.

Re: Water Logged Apache

I dried out my RAZR when a cousin of mine took it in the pool when we were messing around. It worked. And his face was as red hot as the phone when I was done knocking him out. Lol.

Re: Water Logged Apache

Well, i did NOT use a hair dryer, i've seen mixed reviews on this method, i let the disassembled parts sit on a towel overnight.
Everything works perfectly, all of the keys, the touch screen, it's amazing!

Amazing now, will suck in a month or two. Mine worked "great" when I dried it out properly. Problem is when it initially gets wet you get shorts and arcs all over the system. Only exception is if there is no battery in it when you drop it. In due time all sorts of bizarre problems will start showing up. Wait till it randomly drops calls, that's the fun one. Or when it starts hanging for five minutes when you send a txt. Save your self absolute hell and replace it now.

Re: Water Logged Apache

Get TEP on your account if you don't have it already... It will cost $50 to replace the phone (plus monthly TEP charge)... You will likely get a Mogel or a Touch Pro as a replacement...

Note that in April, the replacement cost increases to $100
