VX6700 Stuck On "align screen"... - Page 2

I guess I currently have the 3.3 update. I updated it after having these problems, but last night I tried to put 2.2 on there, and after I got the screen telling me what the ppc was going to go from and to I hit install, and then my laptop and Mobile Sync said the ppc was disconnected.

Also, after I hard reset the first time, when should I hard reset the second, third, etc.? (What screen should I hard reset at?)

If you already had the 3.3 flash that. 2.2 wonnt go after since it's a lower revision. I was hoping for 2.2 because of the bootloader with 3.3 limits custom ROMs. Let everything run first to see if it comes up and gets past the alignment, let it get all the way to the today screen. If it does, go on with life and enjoy your 6700. Read up on custom ROMs and reverting the bootloader and flash a custom ROM when you're confident of the device.

Your touch screen could have a problem... You can skip the calibration/intro if you are willing to flash using a custom ROM and using OEMizer... Once you get the phone running, you can start the note taking app, then "draw" a picture to see where your alignment problems are...

Good suggestion psiphi. I was wondering if it had gotten thru the boot and running. Hopefully no news is good news, and we'll hear back that it's up and running a custom ROM.

Thanks for your help guys, but I think I'm going to give up on this thing. I have no idea how to flash a custom ROM and use OEMizer... and I don't really have the patience to try to figure it out with these threads. (It's so hard to find a post that has the topic you need, and then when you do find one it gets way off subject or is hard to understand with all the lingo that I'm not familiar with.) But thanks again for trying!

yeah my screen cover came up and an air bubble came up and bent the plastic (not the protector, the actual screen cover) and after two days of searching i found it

sprint refuses to fix my phone because i had shown an employee how to flash a custom rom on my phone

OK, so I had this problem also and I tried the business card trick -- nothing doing. I followed the link http://goatechno.blogspot.com/2008/1...at-screen.html from a number of threads, but the Remote Screen Alignment program link was broken link. I have found the software and will be happy to share it with anyone who needs it. I ran it and it bypassed the screen alignment. Back in business
