Question Specific Questions... Please point me in the right direction.

I have an HTC Apache 6700 on the sprint network. I have looked thru the forum and gotten a headache with information overload. If someone could proved me with the exact links to the correct threads, I would greatly appreciate it.

I have the WM5 on it with the original programs plus:
TCPMP
spb backup
google maps
yahoo! go
terminal services client

I use just about ALL functions on the Apache.

I want:
to upgrade to WM 6.1 and overclock the processor(if recommended)
the option of switching from Today to a touchflo interface(like the HTC Touch Pro)
All of my previous programs plus and adobe reader for the phone and a program to play SNES ROMS(I have a bunch and haven't found a good program to play them)

I assume the OEM needs to be tweeked first, then upgrade the OS, after that, the programs get loaded. I need specifics to do this.

Thanks!!!!

Welcome to PPCGeeks, first off, the search feture is your best friend. Now, I'll get straight to the point.

You need to use the kitchen to cook a WM6.1 ROM for the Apache. You can select the OEM in the kithcen called "HTC Performance" to over-clock the phone. You really shouldn't use the TouchFlo as it eats a lot of RAM, and there's very little on the Apache. You can cook all of those aps you installed in the ROM.

Enjoy!

I agree with not using TF3D as the 6700 doesnt have enough RAM. I would use Pocket Hack Master for OC'ing personally. You can go up to 624 safely BTW. As far as TCPMP and Spb Backup, there really isnt a threaded needed for them as those apps are self-explainatory. However, I would also include PIMBackup to do a backup of contacts, calender events, text msgs, ECT. As for Yahoo! GO, You may want to broaden your thinkings on an IM and use something like IM+ which will do many different IM srvcs. You will likely want to upgrade the radio also to 1.43 and you can google that or search for it here.

I can't say on the cooking/rom thing, but I can comment on the touchflo thing, I used throttle launcher and its touchflo thing, it's nice, but I only kept it for about a day, like they all said, it to heavy for the apache imo. OC'ing, not all apaches can do 624, some can only go to 520, even seen some fail at 520. Of my two apaches, one can do 520, not 624, the other can do 633. I would test this on WM5, find your max, then worry about setting it up after your new rom goes in, stability may suffer with the OC. Up to 624 is within spec for the cpu, just not for these phones, past 624 is truly overclocking it as it wasn't in spec for this generation of cpu. I prefer to call bumping up to 624 or 520 as unlocking the cpu, overclocking is 633+, but thats just me =P I use X-cpu scalar. Yea, thats an a not an e in scalar.
