Make sure you do this quickly, as alcohol can damage some kinds of plastics."
So I was mistaken about the time... the device should only be in the alcohol for a few seconds to a minute as it can screw with certain plastics.
Oh... and you can usually find 99% isopropyl alcohol at any Wal-Mart or Walgreens.
