I had a Windows Smartphone before my PPC-6700 and that one had the smartdial, where you just start entering the first 3-4 lettes and the name comes up. When I got the PPC-6700 with its old ROM that didn't have it, I was pissed! I'm so glad subsequent ROMs included it, and I really don't see how it's better to dial through the contact lists instead. At least with smartdial, you can dial with one hand

Any way to get the ## codes to work? I use ##PST# all the time, and launching epst.exe manually doesn't display anything.

Can't run the ##codes with any dialer skins. I had to uninstall the Jimm98y a couple of weeks back to run a code, too. Afterwards, just reinstall dialer skin

That sucks. If anyone knows a way to manually launch EPST, that would be great. I use it up to twice a day to force 1X in the warehouse (bad reception), and that's too often to be uninstalling and reinstalling a skin. I have Sprint with only the required ExtROM CABs.

Heh, just answered my own question.

1. Using Resco or Total Commander, create a shortcut to EPST.exe

2. Edit the properties of the shortcut, and change the target from
Code:
\Windows\EPST.exe
to
Code:
"\Windows\EPST.exe" ##778
Make sure to pay close attention to where the quotation marks are and include the space.

Happy dialing!

I dont have it installed right now, but when you hit call history it brings up the list of recent call activity. There are three files that are missing. One usually has an exclamation point for missed calls, one with an "outgoing" arrow, and one with an "incoming" arrow. Also missing a blank button on the speeddial page as well.

I see what you mean. Unfortunately, the original Jimm98y dialer does not skin these, so I don't know which graphic files to change in the system. If someone can help me find them, I'll reskin them to match the Touch dialer.

I use the ## codes with a dialer skin and smartdial also works fine. The skin files are from Geo77 on xda and based on the ETEN dialer. This skin also includes the call history and speed dial buttons.

The files you need to edit are: clg_in.gif, clg_miss.gif, and clg_out.gif, and spd_lst.gif.

Has anyone taken the Geo77 (or jimmy vista) cab and put these image files into it as a repackaged Touch cab?
