Unresponsive + white screens after Kitchen upgrade- BRICKED!

Please help! I am stuck with a brick!
I ran the Helmi_APAC_WM3.5_NEW_Kitchen_R2 and now am stuck with an unresponsive xv6700. I can't even get ActiveSync to see the device to do a flash to the UTCStartcom ROM. The only thing I can think made it go wrong was when the documentation said to do a hard reset, I accidentally did a soft reset. Also, I think I selected too many programs to install from the Kitchen. It takes forever to boot up, then when it does boot, it just crawls like a snail.

I called Verizon tech support for advice, but they insisted on just sending out a replacement which should come in a couple of days.

Please help! I would be happy to just get windows/activesync to see the device so I can flash to factory ROM. Thanks in advance!

you actually called Verizon? What did you expect them to tell you?

Put your phone in bootloader and flash another rom.

Activesync isn't going to work until it's running normally again.

Don't select so much stuff and try again.

Thank you for your asistance. How do I put the phone in bootloader and flash the other rom??? I'm confused. I am new to this.

Also, it is my work (and only) phone, so I was hoping for a miracle from Verizon, but I didn't get it. haha

Thanks a bunch!

Lol -

first post by a new user "I Bricked My Phone!!! And I called my Carrier!!!" Help!!!

This, my friends, is why making the kitchen easier ain't necessarily a good thing.

to the original poster, who most likely isn't real but I actually hope is real

(a) relax
(b) check out the 1000000 posts on the correct way to flash a rom, and what to do when something goes wrong. Try some of them. Tell us what worked.

and then

(c) grow a brain. You can't put 400 pounds of sugar into a 1 lb sugar bag. Once you get yourself out of the mess (by flashing a verizon rom, one would hope) start small and reasonable for packages in your kitchen.

Seriously, I doubt this is a real person, but hey I've been wrong before.

press power and Notes(cassette button on left top) and reset at the same time. Screen should darken and say Serial. Plug in and it will say USB

same thing happened to me when I chose to build my rom with too many apps. Building a new rom with less oems solved the problem for me. You probably need to rebuild the rom and flash your phone again.

Colonel:
Thank you very much. That is exactly what I was looking for and it worked. I appreciate your help.

schettj:
Yes, I am a real person. I did look around. It is possible that the answer was already out there, but I didn't see it and this is my only phone (it's also my work phone), so it was kinda critical that I got this back up and running in a minimal amount of time. I am new to this, so excuse me for not being such an expert like you. Also, what's with the cockiness?

It can't be real, how can they know the term brick but not know how to get into bootloader mode?

Edit: well I stand corrected.

PS a search in the thread about R2 would have got you your answer and saved you a call to Verizon. I can only imagine what the Verizon rep. thought lol.

You: "I tried to flash the new R2 kitchen and I bricked my phone"
VZ: "Uh... we dont sell kitchens or bricks, try Home Depot"

hehee, I'll show how much of a noob I was a long time ago... I flashed a rom on, and it was for sprint. I then proceded to let the customizations run, and man, did it do some nasty damage. Even after flashing back to vzw rom, I couldnt make/get calls. I called VZW support, and Sprint support. You'd be suprised how much some of those techs know. I just acted dumb(er) and they will try their best... The funniest part is, that I wound up figuring it out on my own -- I had to manually apply the vzw prl, but i couldnt run epst with the ##, so I had to use resco to make a custom shortcut, got the prl on, and then it worked.

Just remember we were all noobs once, but some of us RTFF(orum) and resolved it on our own.
