How often is you Activesync receiving?

I set it to manual and it still does it. It just turned the radio off on a phone call for no reason twice in a row, and that was with it plugged in. I think I am having a hardware issue.

This has always worked on the other versions of the BigJ ROM. I store attachments to the storage card (which is actually Extended ROM since I don't know how to change it literally to the storage card). I am using the Sprint version (1.1). Nothing else installed. WMP works OK for music saved to my card (although it kind of skips, but I think that relates to my card not being a great card. I have a PQI 2GB).

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

I have the same exact problem and receive the same error msg when I try to listen to a wav file as an attachment - I have my sunrocket VM emailed to me as wav attachment. Did not have a problem before with 9.6 - not sure if this happened with 1.6 or 1.0.

Seems like all the issues I've been having were related to voice command. I've disabled it and I'll report back COB today and let you know for sure.

Slevin 06-19-2007 08:45 AM

First off let me say that this has to be the absolute awesomest (i know it's not really a word) ROM I have used. I was previously using your 1.6 ROM and things just keep getting better.

now to the issues:

1st: My BT Audio/Video doesn't work....I have paired my Jabra BT8010 to my phone no problem, it works as a wireless headset with no issues. The problem I'm having is when trying to use it as a stereo headset. I change the settings in the connections and enable Audio/Video. When I load up some music in WM or TCPMP I get about 1-3 seconds, then nothing. I can hear the other sounds like the start menu etc. in the headset, just not any music. I can change the connection setting back to headset, then click on the BT-Autio Route to have all the audio sent to the headset and I can hear everything. The problem with this is the audio isn't as clear as when it was set to Aduio/Video in the connections settings.

2nd: When trying to listen to streaming XM via IE, I can't get the stream to launch. I noticed that about 2 weeks ago MusicDock changed their website. Ever since then I haven't been able to listen to XM. I have tried with both WM and TCPMP by changing the file associations for each player, but nothing. Oddly, even another site I use for XM streams which hasn't changed, xstreamxm won't launch the stream either. This is very irritating because I listen to xm about 3 hours a day while commuting. I have checked on my PC that I can go to either link and it will launch WM on my computer, so I don't think it's a problem with the site, maybe how it works now since they changed it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as these two issues are KILLING me. Thanks again for all your hard work.

Great ROM, JBabey. I agree thngs keep getting better and better.

I have an XV6700, running OEMs selected from your kitchen and a few popular post flash ROMs (PI, Wisbar, ListPro, Calligrapher).

The only problem I have is that since I flashed, after pluging in the device at night, I wake up to find that the device has frozen (like the olden days). This has happened almost every night since flashing.

Anyone else havign this problem?

Believe it or not, I am having more problems with 1.1 than 1.0 :(

My phone randomly seems to get into a state where it turns off due to inactivity (I just checked and the "turn off if inactive for 3 minutes" thing is turned on), but is unable to come back! I just tested it and I am unable to receive phone calls when the phone is in this state. The only way to get out is to soft-reset.

I have turned off the setting for now, we'll see if I have to soft-reset again today.

I remembered that (in the olden days) the fix was to go into active sync and change to manual the automated scheduled time to download mail. I did that and will report back tomorrow AM

BigJ, I LOVE this ROM. My phone is working beautifully!

I have one question for everyone... how would I customize this already customized ROM? I want to remove a few things and add a few things. I went through the tutorial on building your own, and it looks as though I'd be going through a lot more than I need to just to tweak this one.

Any help?

zenak 06-19-2007 01:45 PM

You'd have to start with his kitchen instead of the empty one....

CFdragon 06-19-2007 02:07 PM

BigJ, I am a total neophyte when it comes to this stuff...absolutely no computer training or understanding. Everything I have done to my phone is as a result of literally days of reading various threads, fuelled by redbull and a thirst for a better operating phone. I have a Sprint PPC 6700 running your newly updated Rom.
I noticed in a previous Rom Sar Aku 3.5+pr that VC1.6 would read incoming text messages even if they were threaded thru the SMS Text Manager program. However, as of yet, VC1.6 has not read any incoming text messages thru the PalmSMS integrated software.
Is it possible to patch this so I can have incoming text messages read by VC1.6? If I download email, it will read the headers no problem.
Maybe I am doing something wrong?
Should I remove the PalmSMS software and go back to SMS Text Manager?
As I said...lots of caffeine..not a lot of experience, and absolutely no idea how to find my root directory with both hands. I just need some help because I really love how this Rom operates!!

Thanks!!

i dont have sarids registry information or VC OEM so im unable to see what he did to allow it full integration to the threaded messages.

I have not experienced this issue since the AKU 2.x kitchen, nor have any of my beta testers, you failed to specify which ROM you are running, your carrier, what applications you have installed since flashing, and what was currently running when it happened. I dont feel that this is something to do with the ROM per-se but a modification made after the fact. Keep me posted.

aside from that, im not sure, this has not happened to me for a VERY long time, and when it was, i exchanged my phone and it stopped happening. (albeit i was a n00b back then).

the 1st issue is a boggle to most people that use this phone, using stereo headsets.... well.... it just plain sucks. You may want to try installing the broadcom stack and putting in a toggle to allow you to switch back to headset mode.

2nd, does this happen on a stock kitchen flash? or just my own ROM. I know TCPMP came out with a retail update yesterday, but nobody has shared the retail program and registration info with me as of yet. As soon as i get ahold of a copy of the new media player, im going to test it with orb and if working, build an OEM package for the kitchen.

I am also working with some people on xda to try and pull the latest directshow files for our phone and integrate them but the progress is slow at best, i will keep you guys posted however if anything changes on that front.

The fact that it will not stream with both media player and TCPMP however leads me to believe that there is another issue that is not related to the media players.

Rally1 06-19-2007 05:02 PM

On the XM topic I have the same issue, i noticed it a few days ago, and I am pretty sure it happened on your 1.0 kitchen, and it is also happening on Helmi R4. So I would think it's site related, or perhaps PiePlus.

Sprint
Helmi R4
PiePlus unactivated
TCPMP 0.81C1 Beta
Windows Media Player

I tried both WMP and TCPMP.

I am sending you a voicemail file which went to my email. When retrieved on the PC, the message plays fine on the desktop. When retrieved on the PPC, I get the message I refer to. Funny thing is that today, one message played on the PPC (none had been playing before on this ROM version) but when I went later to replay it...I got the error.

Also, noticed that the size of the attachment in the PPC says "23K" but the file I am sending is 50k. I will send that screenshot next.

I am guessing there is an issue with the downloading of the .wav file to the PPC, not the playback of the downloaded file. In fact, when I move the file from my desktop to the PPC...it plays.

mdphoenix 06-19-2007 07:58 PM

Does anyone know if PocketBreeze has been successfully converted to an installable OEM package for a custom ROM? Or even if it's been tried and determined that it can't be done?

XM

I have the same problem with streaming XM using the 1.0 ROM.

You can work around it by installing the new version of Opera Mobile. It launches MediaPlayer normally.

I use SunRocket and have voicemail messages emailed to me as a wav file attachment as well. I have no problem playing a received voicemail message. The message plays through Windows Media Player.

i upgraded from the hemi so i know it worked on my laptop before the upgrade

if you could come up with a fix i would much appreciate it

in am attempt to reflash the oem so my friend can return his phone to the sprint store, i neglected to remove my phone from its cradle. Well my phone didnt get flashed with the oem rom it just got its flash deleted. So the past 2 hours i reflashed and setup everything.

Internet sharing seems to work after the reflash. So im guessing it was a fluke in the original flash and thats why it didnt work

My understanding is that if you don't put phone weaver on your today screen it isn't active. I've never put mine there, and haven't had any reason to think it is enabled.

I installed Opera Mobile 8.60 and it launches WMP as well. At least this is a work around, and I may find that I like Opera beter than PIE.

I sort of figured out some issues with my BT headset, I think it may be cutting out because of my broken joystick??? My phone is acting crazy because the joystick is broken and I can't get sprint to replace it. I got the headsets to play music yesterday, and it seemed if I keep my phone absolutely still it doesn't skip, but if I shake it (like the joystick is moving sporadically) it skipps. Maybe it's mental, but maybe not. I'm hoping to get sprint to replace my phone, and maybe I may get a PPC 6800, working on that now. Thanks again Jbabey, this ROM kicks!!!

mms

You'll have to use normal messaging for MMS. Make sure you do the registry entry as noted in the first post if you are Verizon.

ryncppr 06-20-2007 06:23 PM

3 Attachment(s)
I was having the same problem with my MMS. I was getting so frustrated to. Then like it was just said you need to use the MMS composer that is in the regular messaging. There is no way around this as there is no way to make the SMS software send pictures.

It works fine was just a bit annoying at first. Then I said to myself, how often do I actually send pictures.

Anyways if your using verizon make sure you install the MMS_messaging.cab file.

I attached the necessary .cab file because it was a pain in the butt to find.

zenak 06-20-2007 07:34 PM

You shouldn't need this with the most recent ROM - Are you on 1.1?

Verizon MMS Setting

So do I need to make a new string? I have no string in there which looks like "X-VzW-MDN"="

From the post this is what needs to be in there.

VERIZON
-All carrier customizations built-in
-Flashes your ext.rom EMPTY, if you have files there you want/need DELETE the "ms_.nbf" file from the flash folder BEFORE flashing your phone
-MMS, vz users *MUST* enter their phone # at this key!!!
Quote:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader]
"X-VzW-MDN"="Your10digitnumbergoeshere"

I am lost on this one. LOL Any help please. :)

Thanks

zenak 06-20-2007 11:34 PM

Yes, new string named X-VzN-MDN with a value of your phone number.
That is all I needed to do and I can send and receive pics fine

Sorry, you're right. I put the device and carrier in my profile, but I have too many post-flash installed apps to type  I really load up this thing BUT I think I found out what the problem is: WeatherPanel, or more precisely when WeatherPanel accesses the web. Last night, my device froze about 10 minutes after WeatherPanel updated. Nothing but that was running. Tonight I'm gonna turn off the automatic update and see what happens. I'll let you know

Problem with UI Tweak

My 6700 is on Sprint's network and I am using BigJ's 1.1r. I Changed today themes then changed back to the default. I had to adjust the task bars back using UI Tweak in accordance with the instructions in the FAQ.

Quote:

-Once you change off of the default theme, you cant get back to it
go to your themes and choose "Windows Default", the task bars will be bright blue

Open UI Tweaker and select "WM5 Color Change", then select "Softkey Background" and Taskbar Background" from the drop down menu and set each one to R=0, G=113, B=132 you will now have them back to the original theme colors
This worked fine. Then I switched to another theme and tried to go back to the default yet again. Now there seems to be a problem with WM5Color Changer because there are no items to choose from in the drop down list. The screen looks like this:

http://upload8.postimage.org/943135/CapScr0001.jpg

Any ideas how I can fix this without a hard reset?

Thanks.

I could go on and on but this thread is about J's ROM, not the 6800. Do some research and you'll see just how wrong you are.

In any case, I've still not re-flashed my phone... hoping that J comes through with the new ROM tonight because I don't want to flash my phone to the clean and simple ROM when J is releasing one that should fix the problem...

Done my research...

While I didn't know about the screen; I still don't see it worth $600-700 for the "updates" if you already own a 6700. I'm not wrong about that, it's my opinion. Yours may differ, points a,b,c above are a joke to me and wouldn't effect my daily use of the phone. Especially point c.

IMO the only major changes worth noting are the d-pad and possible bluetooth fixes. The rest are just geek factor things or for the "i need to have the newest" people who toss away $$ at the drop of a hat.

Once the phone drops to $300-400 it'll be worth the upgrade from a 6700 IMO.

We can start another thread if you want, I don't want to hammer this one up with 6800 chat. And really arguing over ones opinions in life is rather pointless if you haven't figured that out yet...

I really posted the original comment as a joke. I should have put a smiley on the end of it. Sorry,,,
