Voice Command Lock Ups

I'm noticing a lot of lock ups when I use Voice Command. The phone will freeze up and not come out of Stand-by. If I turn off VC, the freezing seems to go away.

Anyone else notice this?

First of all ... thanks for a great reload or a simply splendid rom.

Secondly, I am not having any problems with the rom, but having a time with the kitchen. Forgive me but i read the first couple of pages, and just didnt read the last few pages.

No matter which theme i chose, I get crazy snow like my dads old floor model when i boot. The best i got was a half of the sonic on boot, but then the remaining screens were crappy.

Anyone have any ideas?

And forgive if this has already been covered.

Tharris, most often you have too much stuff chosen. Try the default or remove some of your choices and reflash.

Not true. Unless he got the error message on p. 39 of the manual, he didnt load too much.

THarris, try a different .prj, the one for your phone. The same thing happened to me until I changed it. Could have been a coincidence, but it worked for me on an XV6700.

So you are saying that this is another indication of loading too much? Could be. I'm just going by the manual since I RTFM

maybe Big J will weigh in?

I see that part in the manual now, at first you put page 29.

That is a new addition and a good one. But I think I read that it gets compressed on the flash, so a good guess is anything over 80MB is too much. Maybe that error comes up at a certain size (ie a best guess) as a warning. And there maybe size that is too big but doesn't send up a red flag.

But I am no expert, just giving him a possible solution. Hopefully one of our offerings helps him out!

I will not be going into detail on them. If this happens to you for some reason at this point, it’s safe to say that you probably messed up something in the SYS folder, or one of your OEM packages overwrote or bypassed something in the registry it should not have. They are…
- White Screen of Death
- Hanging on the Bootscreen
- Hanging on the second splash screen

In the walkthrough .doc page 39 is the important page in this discussion not 29. As pasted above.
