How about the standard 3.5 ROM?
Thanks for the input. Does anybody know if the standard 3.5 ROM supports supports A2DP and if it sounds good? How about with the fixes posted at "AKU 3.5 BlueTooth, Kitchen Fix Files"
Thanks again. |

Plain and Simple Rom supports A2DP
Just installed the latest Plain and Simple Rom for Sprint... Bluetooth support was built in and better than the Tornado hack for the older Roms... I seem to have lost a little volume on my handfree devices, but they seem to have slightly better range...

Turns out the S9s are on back-order but are set to be shipped in a little over a week. I will try a the suggestions made in this thread and then report back here -- I'll compare and contrast. If anyone else has any suggesions please post them and I'll try those out too.

got the s9's and got them working great.
Wow, JBabey's "reloaded" ROM has great bluetooth stereo support. After reading everyone's problems with skipping and poor sound quality I was sure I would be disappointed with my S9 headphones linked to my Sprint 6700.
Luckily I was dead wrong. I gotta say I was blown away at how good the S9s worked with BigJ's ROM. All the handsfree controls worked to skip songs, pause, etc. The sound quality is impressive -- way better than I expected. I am also able to stream Sirius, Mercora, Orb, etc. and listen wirelessly using appropriate aps. No skipping even on WMP. Only snag is Wifi causes interference with BT --- clearly not the ROM's fault. (Just keep it off when listening with BT). When configuring your headphones with this ROM, notice the tabs along the bottom that extend over to the right of the screen. Scroll over to the audio tab and be sure to check the boxes to stream audio to headset and for automute. It took a few tries to get the devices paired and working, but once they did, I've had no problems in two days. Here's the thread to the ROM: http://www.ppcgeeks.com/bigjs-newcor...-07-t5546.html Colonel's 3.5 is the first ROM I tried, but it skipped really bad on TCMP and WMP. Its a shame because I loved the ROM otherwise. Once I tried BigJ's there was no need to try any others since I am mostly concerned with stereo bluetooth. Finally, as a noobie, I'd like to say to other noobies who are concerned that they will not be able to "ROM up" their phones, Its not that hard. Be patient, read all the instructions in the threads, and it is also a very helpful step, and an often overlooked one, to study the read-me files and other docs that come with the ROMS. It took me a lot of stumbling, but I got it. Thanks to everyone who works so hard to make these ROMS and keep this site great. |

I cooked my own rom, and using the stock MS Stack, the bt SUCKS! BUT, if you do a hard reset, then install the Broadcom BT Stack, No matter what Media Player you use, the quaility is flawless. The only problem is that the volume is only a PreAmp setup... so the volume controls dont work. So to adjust the volume you have to adjust them on your BT device.
Currently in my own opinion, HTC Audio Manager is THE BEST media player around, but the problem with it is that it requires some Audio codecs that WMP or TCPMP has. So so far until I figure out what it needs, you have to have either WMP or TCPMP installed to run HTC Audio Manager...
