I told them it was like I wrecked my bmw and they were offering me a ford. I said I'd rather have my broken 6700 than a treo and that they would have to give me the treo and cash if I was to take that trade off. anyways I asked about the 6800 and they said it would be out mid june here in phoenix. but the also told me that it would NOT be offered as a replacement phone for the 6700 and they will continue to only offer treos for such replacements. I will still try to swap it wen they do come out though. just thought I'd tell evryone about that.
and i was gonna go to the store and tell them my ppc is being a real ass. it doesnt dial out calls and it never connects to the internet more than twice a day. idk whats wrong i even hard reset and right after a few calls and not using the phohne. it will have service and it will take forever to make a call, or fail or this ballooon comes up saying the number maybe invalid or the dignal maybe unavalible. then when i get an incoming call i cant accept it. it will only light up and the EV box would change to 1X nad when its finish ringing it will just change back. and the text messsaging will be the only thing that works...its like it makes no sense to have this ppc as a phone because i cant even use it as one. this is my first replacement- its like ever since i had the phone it was like there was problems it had that was on a cycle. there maybe a problem with the screen(it was faded when i got it as if something fell in it there was a big grey spot0then it went away and was working fine) that stopped then sound and vibration has issues and wont work, then that stopped, and now i can call or use the internet i wonder whats next. its been almost a month now since i had thjis problem with calling. a soft reset doesnt help. the internet prob has been goin on for a long while though. its basically useless to use it as a phone. and what makes it worse is that if i got tot he sprint store they are going to give me a treo not a ppc...

btw, is thr treo a good phone (windows version)? my dad has a 650 for a while now. and with my dads job his phone is durable . that phone been through so much hell n he still has it. the battery i love it. it lasts so long. is it the same with the wx. its been about 2 years since my dad had his phone. and he loves it

As a quick story, the sound went out on my 6700 and I had to take it to the store this week. When I dropped it off, the rep told me that there weren't any in the whole Kansas City area. After the 45 minutes I was supposed to wait for the tech to look at it, I went back only to find out that they were testing the earpiece sound and not the system sounds from the speaker on the back. I was told to leave it for a few more hours and again told that there were no replacements in the KC area. Upon returning 2 hours later, the rep walks out of the back room with a brand new 6700 in the box. So, either they have some of the fastest possible shipping or there are some around but they are tightly guarde

Ya I just went in to fix/replace it due to the broken USB port. They also said they were out but put me down on some call list incase they get any in. They also offered a trio and I was like hell no (work with them all day at my office. I dont like em) I mentioned the 6800 and if i could last that long then I could get that as a replacement.

So since it will charge at weird angles and iff all else fails I can pull the battery at night I might see if I can last a bit.

Hopefully the 6800 is better for everything and not worse in games or certain apps I have grown to love..

The big BIG BIG downside of the 6800 will be a lack of (free) tethering. I'm guessing I'd keep a broken joystick rather than lose that bene.

ya I figured hat the sales rep at the store was just trying to get me 2 take the treo, because I kno they aren't making anything off me. so I called *2 right after I left and was told that the treo is the only replace ment. but like someone elses example of the 6600 to 6700 exchange maybe if we wait a while we can get it done I can't find the dl of the program tha will let me re map the joystick. anybody kno the name? I just want it t be unused b the device so it will stop calling people when I'm looking through my contacts

The Sprint stores are all pretty much going to be a bust, but Assurion has TONS of refurb 6700s.
If you do go to the store and they can't repair or replace your 6700, ask them to call Assurion to secure a replacement for you. Noting your account does no good since the Assurion rep can't access that info. They may be able to get the $50 fee waived for you.
