Some Sort of Silence

Hey all I realize that I am new to this and I could just be retarded also but I not sure. I just got my phone a few weeks ago, and have noticed that there is no silence button, (or maybe I am just missing it) For instance if I am on a phone call and call waiting comes through or a text message my phone will just start playing my ringtone in the middle of my conversation and havent found a way to shut it off even after excepting the text message. Or just being at work not on the phone and it rings but all I want to do is shut off the ringtone and not answer well in the past on other phones you could just hit end or volume down to silence. Like I said I could be missing something abvious any help would be appreciated.

BTW I have the PPC-6700

I am on the URom and am using MSVC as well as OnLock. I work in face to face sales (I run a furniture store).

When a call comes in, and don't wish to pull out my phone, I hit the vol down button - that will silence the ringer. HOWEVER, thaat doesn't stop the MSVC announcement!!! That is so unprofesional.

I love the announcements in general, but there should be a definitive way to silence anything that is happening, without removing the phone from the holster.

This is doubled by the fact that the phone will answer on it's own 50% of the time upon removeing it from the holster (the green answer button gets tapped by the holster).

Any Suggestions????

Someone could write a little app to toggle the registry strings for vibrate on and off then you could map it to a button. I wish I were a programmer
