SO FAR SO GOOD.
guess the new version is actually Good Mobile Massaging instead of GoodLink. for what that is worth. I've successfully upgraded to "HELMI_2.60.10_WWE_R3" and reinstalled GL or GMM from the SD card after completing a Backup prior to the upgrade. it installed very quickly and so far has sync'd very fast. keeping fingers crossed that it will stay connected to the GMM server and not time out as all previous versions have done.
so summarize

OS 5.1.195 (Build 15698col3.5.8 )
Good Mobile Massaging V5.0.0.36_EN

OK.. we just got the beta version installed today, and I was able to finally run goodlink on Big J's r9.5, after upgrade recovered from memory card and connected almost immediately. been able to send and recieve e-mail all day. Only problem at this point is that my device will not provision device lock.

OS 5.1.195 (build 15698-BigJ_9.5)

Installing from Backup is unacceptable for me, I need it to install fresh. We need to figure out where the AKU3.5 ROM pulls the info that makes it an IMSI number. Until we can edit that, I don't think it will work.

OK...I just cleared my phone and I am trying a fresh install of the beta 5.0 and it is now showing an ESN number for the serial, not IMSI. It looks like it should work.

Nice! I'll try on 2 different 6700s with AKU3.5's when I get into the office in about 2 hours and report back!

HOLY CRAP! Now I get an ESN number and it goes thru what looks like the install but then hangs with this ROM that CaptinJager gave me. I'm going to try with another one see if it will finish!

My guess is that since the GLES server will still push 4.9.3 to the phone, it might have errors finsihing the install after.

Yep, 2 different AKU3.5's and they both reboot the device (which its not supposed to do) and then they hang at the Setup process. I'm wondering if here's where it would come in handy to restore from a backup. I might try this since hopefully next week I'll hve my 6800 anyway.

you may need to contact Good to get into the beta, just provision the 6700's with the 5.0 code
