Wheelna, the rom should not affect the radio or reception. Best thing I can suggest is to do some side by side testing. Make sure your ExtRom installs. So you had the network options and installing the PRL caused them to go away?

Trident, I always suggest it just to keep them from saying and noting anything. There was someone else that took their phone in because of USB issues and the tech noted that the "3rd Party" rom could have fried the phone. I just think it is better to take the 20 minutes to flash to an official rom to avoid any problems.

Is the ftp site having issues, or am I just stupid? I'm attempting to d/l colonel's sprint3.5.7, but it always tells me that IE is unable to open the site. I was able to d/l the sprint kitchen patch just fine.

Well I took your advice and I think it was beneficial.
They decided that they couldn't repair it- so I got a refurb! Seems perfect and getting ready to flash & restore now. They seemed surprised when I told them that I heard there weren't any more around.
They gave me a little hassle to get my MSL, but I was nice to them and not beligerent and the manager finally gave it to me. I also got an extra stylus out of the deal.
The final thing I got might be of interest to some... they had some extra documentation for a 700wx sitting around... including an install disk. Which I understand has some nice software on it. Anyone interested?

I recently had problems with battery life that led me to believe it was an aging battery, not the rom. Got one of the new 1500mah li-po batteries, and ran it for a week on the stock rom with no issues. Flashed the colonel's final last night, and went to bed with tha battery at 70%, got up this morning and it was at 20%. It did not hear it beeping all night, so it wasn't notifying me about the sd card all night long. How do I track down what is really causing my problem??

Use the acbPowerMeter app to track your battery usage. Post your results after letting it run for a while.

I'm liking this rom a lot, I came from using the clean and simple rom, but it's nice to have some bells and whistles too! One problem I am having though, I can't seem to get the MMS hack to work...I can see MMS configuration settings but there isn't anyway to send MMS. There is no MMS folder with an inbox, sent items, outbox, etc.. like there was before. I've tried to manual install and the cab file that installs it, neither works. Anyone have some ideas?

okay, been running acbpower for a while, with the phone just sitting on my desk. no calls, data, etc. Not sure what to do with the output, so I'll describe what I see. Battery seems to have held up better than it did over night. Acb says 30 minutes, but it's been running a few hours. Now 35ma, Avg 54 ma, total 23 mah. There are four spikes which I attribute to notifyme, as I saw the alert come up. However, there was no reason for the card to even move, let alone pop out, as it was sitting on my desk.

I'm guessing here, but the red line hovers between 40 mA and 80mA, except for the spikes above 200mA. Th black line (looks like an avg?) also moves between 40 and 80 with a little less variance.

Battery is currently at 70% having held up pretty well. I suspect I might live in an evdo fringe area, as it goes back and forth between 1x and evdo sometimes. Maybe that would explain why it drained itself overnight at home, but held up okay at the office?

Even though it has been said many times, thank you Colonel for your efforts in creating this ROM. I can’t imagine how many hours you have invested in this.

I installed the 3.5 final and all is well except: there has to be an except, otherwise I would just stop with the thank you.

1. When I select "Settings, Memory, Storage Card" I only see "Extended_ROM2" in the pull down. I am sure this is pretty basic but I haven't been around long enough to know how to see the actual 2G card.

2. Is there still a setting to send email attachments to the card or is that automatic?

From Colonel's inital post in this thread
Quote:
As before, you can put the folder on the root of your SD card named Boot. In this folder you can place your VoiceCmd.exe, PIEPlus.dll, and a you can edit the Custom settings cab and edit the config.txt. Also included in the Boot folder is a copy of the PIM Backup app that you can put on your device and run before flashing to backup your stuff.
3. Given the newb status please confirm that once I can see the storage card I just create a folder "\Boot\" and put the VoiceCmd.exe in that folder and it will load at startup? Do I need to edit either the Custom settings cab or the config.txt? Does VoiceCmd.exe load into extended ROM and therefore not use program or storage memory space?

If you are below 100mA on average you are doing fine.

As far as MMS, I do not have a solution at this point. Unfortunately I never use it and it is low on my priority list.

Descriptions of extra stuff in ROM

Colonel,

Is there one place/link that would have descriptions of all the add ons in your ROM?
