Hi, I've been lurking for months, working up the nerve to flash a new ROM. Well, today I took the plunge, and it really was as simple as the Colonel's posts made it sound. I'm busy exploring all the features in 3.5, but seem to have hit a snag - when I hit the "Device Lock", either from the icon on the Today screen or through the programs menu, the device immediately shuts down, and when I hit the power button to bring it back, it comes to a blank white screen and ignores all input. A soft reset puts it right, but this seems to be a pretty radical "lock" feature - I'm guessing it's not working right on my Alltel PPC6700...

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Gary

Been using the phone all day and never used the device lock and never had a freeze.
The only thing that ain't perfect at this point is PhoneAlarm's integration. Overall the program is great, but the new betas still have some significant glitches that keep recurring in different betas.
I swear I'd pay for a good program that did as much as PA does with a little more stability and consistency. (That means being able to monitor incoming calls, voicemail, email and sms's using different profiles that can be switched based on time or event scheduling. Is that too much to ask for? )

Colonel:

I hate to be a pest about this, but I really am looking for some help with the O2 sound profiles. Under 3.3 the sound profiles worked flawlessly. I was able to switch to meeting and loud, or normal and it changed the sound settings accordingly.

Now when I choose meeting, instead of vibrating, it turns the phone volume all the way down, but does nothing to the PDA volume and it never puts the phone in vibrating mode. Please help as this is one the main functions that I need O2 to serve. I just don't understand why in 3.5 it no longer works.

Thanks!

Sorry, been away for a bit. Anyway, that usually happens when the phone wakes and locks, but does not wake fully. Hence the white screen. If you are good, you can click on the lower left and right middle and unlock it. I have had this happen with every lock app out there. It seems to be a random thing, but may be due to a conflict with a today plugin powering up.

Sorry, I am not much help with O2 or why it is not working now. There are alternatives. Some people like Phone Alarm. I use SPB Phone Suite. Not only does it do profiles, but it is very similar to PhoneAlarm and blocks calls

There is also an app over at xda that I will check out that does profiles as well.

Dunno man, my VC is working fine. What else have you installed? While BT has some issues, they seem to be working fine right now.
