Major Problems accessing rings/sound notifications

OK, I'm stumped on this one, because I've flashed and re-flashed my phone, and every time the problem is still there. I'm using Kirvin's clean and simple 3.5. I can't access my sound notification settings for some reason. Every time I try, the phone locks up and I have to soft reset. I also can't get into the phone settings menu, I think it's because it's related to the sound notifications (ringtones, voicemail notification, sms notify, etc...). I thought it was merely a registry problem, and reflashing would solve it, but each and every time I reflash, the problem is still there, even with no additional programs installed. I've even tried a couple other different roms, and it still doesn't help. Anyone have any ideas? I can't change my ringtone, nor can I edit my sms/email/mms tones until I fix this.

Thanks in advance for the expertise...

You need to hard reset after each time you flash. Have you made sure to do that? Do it again just in case. Also, eject any SD card you may have inserted.

If that doesn't work, flash back to your carrier's official ROM and hard reset again. If it still doesn't work you almost definitely have a hardware problem and should get the phone replaced if you have insurance or are under the 1 year warranty.

Yeah, I hard reset each time I flash. Could be a hardware problem I guess. When I use Spb Backup and load a backup file, it changes the ringtones and other notification tones in accordance with what the settings were in the backup archive. I just can't access the menus to change them manually. I guess I'll either live with it, or swap it out with Verizon.

Well boys, thanks anyway, but apparently whatever the problem was, it corrected itself. Just tried randomly to access those portions of the menu and it worked flawlessly, so I have NO idea what the conflict was. Several attempts to hard reset and flash didn't fix it, but it's fixed itself none the less. Thanks for reading...
