Why not just use an audio editing program and edit the part of the mp3 file you want as your ring tone?
The only reference I could find was here http://www.dagondesign.com/articles/...omment-page-5/ it seems to be a type of ring tone for certain phones. |

That's totally wierd. I have been googling and searching for an hour now and can find no reference to gdc file types and what/who they are for. I've found references of people using Tonethis and their phones play it and it's normal.
Totally weird Anywho... my friend suggested Audacity with something called LAME? or to use iTunes to do it. |

Well I give up. That program looked really cool. I liked that I could take cute pics of my kids, make a wallpaper in one click and txt mssg it to myself. But I can't figure out the gcd thing.
So............... I used Audacity, and the LAME MP3 encoder for it. All also free. then because I was too lazy to go find the cable for my phone... I sent it to myself via this: http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/ Worked instantly. Now I'm making other ringers and fading them in and out and all sorts of stuff. The one I just made sounds really good actually. Wasn't sure it was going to. |
