When you guys lose your radios, do you lose your ESN number as well? Check under Settings/System/Device Info. I have no ESN number.

My xv6700 is a sick cross between keyboards, mainboards, and LCDs. I broke my first screen, and swapped LCD's. Then my 6700 started losing battery power and getting really hot, so I swapped mainboards. (I preferred my original keyboard to the LCD donor, that was why I didn't just switch back LCDs and use the other phone.) Then, I discovered ESN changing, and cloned the number of my RAZR V3m, so I could use the two interchangeably.

My radio just randomly quit, after successfully using an xv6700 with a razr ESN for about a month. Now, I don't imagine there's anyway VZW could have figured it out and specifically targeted my phone, causing it to lose its ESN, because whatever they did would have to be device specific, and the tower is incapable of somehow crippling my phone as such. So I'm wondering whether loss of ESN and radio are synonymous, or I have two separate issues.

I can't do a radio upgrade, because no matter what I do, I get error 114. I follow the directions to a T. Actually, I unplug the device from the USB cable rather than cable from computer. I feel like there's no way in the world this is the issue, but I'll try the other way, just because I'm pissed off and out of luck.

I can't use ##DIAG and rewrite my esn because Diag mode requires a radio to be connected.

Yes, that is normal. The ESN is stored inside the Qualcomm CDMA chip. If your CDMA chip is fried then that would cause both symptoms (Radio = None in the version info and no ESN number displayed because the OS can't talk to the chip to get the info).

Unfortunately this sounds like a hardware issue to me. It's one thing to lose your radio ROM during a flash, but when you see it disappear on its own that's almost always a dying/dead CDMA or Flash chip.

So I guess I'm stuck with this water damaged V3m that zoinks out and restarts whenever I get a text message, or call? :[

I've got NE2, and I've been waiting for the 6800, but vzw is killing me with these delays. I got my 6700 on ebay, so it's unlikely that the warranty applies; I have the 1.99 a month Verizon Extended Warranty, which indefinitely covers manufacturers defects, but I've taken apart the phone so many times that it's virtually impossible they'll handle it for me. The sticker on the back didn't even match the device ESN because the casing and mainboard were from different phones. :]

I managed to get my radio back.

first i put it in bootloader mode.

then i flashed the radio_.nbf file alone with the stock updater, after trying everything else here...

sooo... ill see if it goes away when i flash to 3.5

EDIT: After flashing 3.5 it worked fine.. except contacts. so i soft reset and the radio was gone... shiitttyy..

i think im still covered by utstarcom.

Re: How to: get your Radio Back! :D

my radio is gone too and I've tried for so f ing pissed off. I dont want to send it back to UT but thats what I'm going to have to do and its going to cost $75 maximum.

I have every fing kitchen option legit and privately written. I have radio updates and mtty and nothing is working.

A few times I've reset and the radio actually shows as version 1.43 on the boot but when I get into the phone there's nothing.

I also don't have an ESN.

I want to break this phone because I've wasted so much time on it but then I'll have to buy a new $400 one. Cluster fed.

Re: How to: get your Radio Back! :D

I thought that I would let people know that this process worked for mine too. I did an over-the-air update for PRL and that is what threw my radio off the map. After the update, everything went back to the way it was before the crap hit the fan. Great! Thanks for the hard work, and sharing the update material!
