Damn ... I was hoping this would fix mine

I just got a Verizon XV7600 today and have been trying to get it to detect the radio. I have never seen it detected.

The phone came with a ROM version that displayed a Cricket Wireless logo on bootup, so I figured if I went back to the verizon software it would fix it, but so far it hasn't. I've tried a few different ROMs (2 from UTStarCom as well as an unofficial version that had WM6). No luck with any.

I just found this post with the 13 steps and the mtty utility and figured it would work. I ran through it twice trying both the releases I had from UTStarCom (APA_Verizon_31430_314208_14300_WWE_Ship_2.exe and APA_VZW_20720_206_11000_WWE_Ship.exe). Still it doesn't detect the radio.

I'm new to this phone and its design, but I have done some embedded firmware work in the past. Could there be some flash / nvram settings that are causing problems? Or if it is a hardware problem, could it be something simple that I could fix?

Also I saw UnityPunks response saying
" then i flashed the radio_.nbf file alone with the stock updater, after trying everything else here..."

How do you manually flash a single file? I'll look around, but so far haven't seen any info on this.

I hope somebody can help me. I was stoked on getting a new phone that didn't suck

Thanks,

Tom

Help!!! Please!!!

what's up everybody, first forgive me for my bad english, i'm form venezuela, and the only site where i know that someone can help me it's here. i'm new in this forum.

My problem is this:

I had download a upgrade for my radio but i didn't see this HTC-UNI-SIM-Unlock

this utility gave me a 0.00.00 radio

I start the utility and everything it's ok, its worked well, complete succefully the upgrade at 100% then, i soft reset my device and see RADIO= NONE then i've tryed to upgrade again with all the radios in this site but nothing worked before. when y put the device in botloader mode the NOID RUU says STAGE 1: Upgrading Radio, and nothing happen, still in 0% for more than less 10 minutes, then i obtain this error

ERROR 114: RADIO ROM UPGRADE ERROR

the utilyty say me to reset the device and try again, or reset my host pc and try again. haha I formatted my computer thinking that maybe the problem but don't, i can't get the radio back and when I go to settings-system-device info it says RADIO= NONE and ESN= nothing is blank, i can't find the OS and RADIO form my carrier Movilnet and so i don't know what to do, here in venezuela the UTSTARCOM Apache PPC 6700 it's a very rare phone so i can't obtain tecnical support. someone can help me? i want to know: my phone is dead? or i can fix it whit some program in the web? please help me!! i will thank you forever and ever!

Ah. another thing, the bluetooth and wifi works propperly the onlu thing that's doesn't work is the phone when i tryed to turn it on it try but still off

Re: How to: get your Radio Back! :D

my radio is gone too and I've tried for so f ing pissed off. I dont want to send it back to UT but thats what I'm going to have to do and its going to cost $75 maximum.

I have every fing kitchen option legit and privately written. I have radio updates and mtty and nothing is working.

A few times I've reset and the radio actually shows as version 1.43 on the boot but when I get into the phone there's nothing.

I also don't have an ESN.

I want to break this phone because I've wasted so much time on it but then I'll have to buy a new $400 one. Cluster fed.

Re: How to: get your Radio Back! :D

I thought that I would let people know that this process worked for mine too. I did an over-the-air update for PRL and that is what threw my radio off the map. After the update, everything went back to the way it was before the crap hit the fan. Great! Thanks for the hard work, and sharing the update material!

Easy...you extract all the files from the exe (use winzip or equivalent), delete the other .nbf files, run the .exe
