No phone service after installing 6.1

Just as the title says, I've only used the Kitchen to upgrade from WM5 to 6.1 and I've tried both Helmi and Lenny versions. After upgrading I no longer get service from Verizon where I was getting four bars in WM5. Everything else with the ROM seems to work fine. I've tried hard resetting multiple times, reflashing, and even called Verizon and had them reset my service. No joy yet. Can anyone help? thanks

Re: No phone service after installing 6.1

Worth a shot to try verifying Modem settings:

From phone enter ##778 and talk to see EPST screen. (some phone skins will disallow the function - so if you don't get the edit screen option you may need to remove a skin)
Select Edit and enter 000000 (6 zeros)
Under the Display dropdown at the top left, click and selet Modem Settings.

At least on my serial 1.04 verizon model you may see:
Slot Cycle Index 1 (not sure if this is default)
Preferred Serving System Automatic (pretty sure should be set to Automatic)
Preferred Mode Automatic (pretty sure should be set to Automatic)
HDR Hybrid Preferred Enable (HAS to be Endabled - mine was originally set to disabled, and I could seldom get calls in - could call out and text in/out, but no call in)
Clear all MRU Entry No (probably leave the default)

Once you click OK in the top right, you'll be prompted to restart.

It took me three calls to Verizon, and them saying I had a hardware failure, to determine it was just an incorrect modem setting.

Re: No phone service after installing 6.1

Thanks... tried your settings, mine were the same except the slot index was set at 2. I set it to 1 and no change, still can't get service to the phone. Was there anything else in the settings that Verizon had you change?

Re: No phone service after installing 6.1

I had a problem one time. I changed it down to 0 and it worked great. Here's a stupid little thing I do. WHen I activate the phone I first put that modem setting at 3, it still works but takes longer to get a call. I change it to one and I get calls in the first Ring or two. Try it.

Re: No phone service after installing 6.1

bah...I've tried all the slot index #'s...no joy. Beginning to think that my antenna is fried. Not sure how that could happen...I don't think that using the Kitchen could have done that...

Re: No phone service after installing 6.1

No, but if you didn't flash the right carrier info, (which I made that mistake before) you will get no service...

Re: No phone service after installing 6.1

Yeah I would certainly assume the same. It sounds like a bad flash or one not flashed correctly with the correct settings/ingrediants.
