[quote="konceptz"]I remember a thread, that I can't seem to find, about people playing xbox-live over the ppc on 3 bars.
I also played FFXI for the longest time over the sprint/6700 with full bars.
Only problem was, after hours and hours of gaming, my stuff would get really hot.

I have tethered my laptop up to my Xbox 360 and I can say while some games work great, you don't want to play any FPS with it. Gears of War and Halo 2 gives me alot of latency.

Did you use just a crossover cable to accomplish this, or did you use a hub/switch?

I have been able to get my Wii and my DS to connect via the Nintendo Wifi usb connector. You have to tether your ppc6700 as you normally would and then start up the usb connector. It worked out pretty good, and this was when I wasn't even on EV-DO connection.

This will be something that I attempt in the near future though. Not that this is anywhere close to what you are trying to do, since I am sure the Wii "Network" and Xbox Live differ substantially, I wanted you to know that you are not crazy, and other people do comtemplate the reality of gaming while driving, camping, fishing, biking, riding the bus or what have you. I really do not like being confined to my home when gaming as well.

Anyway, I will be trying this with Xbox Live and I will update you as to how it goes if you would like.
My hubby is stationed at school at the moment and plays both his xbox live and his Wii off his phone. Has been for months. super easy and he's gotten better speeds sometimes than the guys with cable in the barracks. Kinda funny. As to how he set it up... you've got me. I'll have to ask him when he calls later.

The ethernet adapter in the Xbox 360 allows for you to use either a crossover cable or normal ethernet cable, so no need for a hub or switch. Just make sure you have internet connection sharing enabled on your pc.

Just to clarify there is NO way to hook your phone directly to either a Wii or Xbox 360. They would both need proper software support on the consoles themselves.

there was a thread on sprint users i beleive where they used the 6700 to connect to xbox live besides using an insane amount of bandwidth and getting flagged it seems like a decent idea.

I think the point was to play on live via cellular while in a hotel room or something

If you live on a boat and are looking (primarily) for usage while in a harbor, consider looking into a directional antenna to a wireless broadband connection. If you can find someone willing to share (or install at your cost) a 802.11(g/n) access point, you might be able to grab the signal using a YAGI antenna on your boat. It depends upon how well you're moored in order to maintain your antenna position, or even if you are in a location which might have broadband access within range of the mooring area.

Some areas also are served natively by antenna based broadband. A friend of mine has 8Mb/s service this way in the San Jose area.

This is a possibility and I have done this, the problem in my situation is that I am not in the same position all year around. It is too problem matic to keep moving the service from location to location 4 times a year. I also looked into sat tv. But to get the equipment installed in a marine application the hardware is prohibitly expensive. So EVDO it is.
