Visiting time zone lost

Hi all,

I've searched on the forum here but didn't come across this specific issue. I was recently overseas running Kirvin's Stock 3.5 for any Apache on my XV6700 with no VZW customizations running. When I got off the plane I touched the date on the today screen and told the XV6700 that I was visiting the GMT+8 time zone (Hong Kong). A few hours later I went back to check and my 6700 had reset itself to pacific GMT-8 time. I tried resetting back to visiting GMT+8 a few more times, and every time the 6700 reset itself back to pacific time. I finally just changed the home time to GMT+8 and it stayed there, but then I couldn't look at the "home" setting and tell immediately what time it was where I was visiting.

Not sure if anyone else has had that problem. I've read a couple of posts that said it might have to do with connecting to the exchange server, but I would think/hope that when you tell your PDA that you're visiting another time zone, it should be smart enough to leave that setting alone.

I wonder if this is a known or new issue with the 3.5 ROMs. It's the first time I've noticed it - last trip out of my time zone was over the new year and I don't recall if it happened then or not. I suspect I was running AKU 2.2 official from Verizon/UTStarcom at that time.
