Angry Re: My PPC 6700 Will Not Turn On After Upgrading Rom

I too am stuck with a dead 6700. I decided to flash my 6700 with the Helmi (sp) rom. In the middle of the flash I lost connection. I start reading the forum and find out it was a bad move to use this ROM. Now I am stuck just like the original poster of this thread. I have followed everything in the preceeding postings but to no avail. When the phone is plugged in I get the same unrecognized error message and than the cursor locks up. If I unplug the phone the cursor starts to move. Maybe I am the lucky one who was able to brick a 6700. I should have left it alone.

You did NOT brick an Apache! I'll bet the Helmi ROM is too old for your phone. What bootloader do you have?

Haha, you make me laugh. And the only way you will brick an Apache is by putting it in the microwave. NOT with ANY software!

Re: My PPC 6700 Will Not Turn On After Upgrading Rom

That's the problem. You CAN'T use that old WM6 with a bootloader version over 1.02 I don't know why that thread hasen't changed! SO MANY noobs try that then end up thinking they've bricked the phone. Anyways. IF you want WM6/6.1 then you will need to use a kitchen, if you don't want to then flash to official ROM to get outa bootloader. If you wanna go about using the kitchen then you can watch my videos on how to flash, link is in my signature. Enjoy!

Re: My PPC 6700 Will Not Turn On After Upgrading Rom

Right now with the 6700 stuck in serial mode my pc will not recognize the phone via the usb cable. Any thoughts?

Re: My PPC 6700 Will Not Turn On After Upgrading Rom

Let me get this right, when you plug in the does the phone's dark screen say USB? There's no such thing as 'serial mode'. It's bootloader mode, which says serial when unplugged ans USB when pluged in.

whether plugged on not it says serial. I have tried several different cables and there has been no change. once plugged in the pc responds by saying unrecognized device connected
