The Apache just simply cannot handle Manilla :(. I switched to an xv6800. Apache is old school, but aging too muhc.

Apache handles this manila perfectly because it is in the rom.
This OEM should work great in 6800 as well.
Try kitchen you will like it.

Thanks, Maxx134, sometimes I make things too complicated, works great. Thanks again. Oh, has anyone figured out how to really make city additions in the weather tab actually work?

I was able to change the theme by replacing the files with themes from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...postcount=1917 and from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425974

edit: I had to extract the files from the *.m2dct file first

Yea its easy also to just copy & paste the images into the OEM and then re-cook
I liked a theme over there and put it in here (untested, waiting on my new kitchen download) :
EDIT: reaname title in xml for kitchen
edit: OEM needs replace image . restarts so I took off

Long time browser. Much respect and much props are due to you guys thank you very much for what you do. It's an inspiration to me. I've had the palm 650 for a whlie waiting on my 6700. I finally got it. Everytime I try and cook using WM6.1_QVGA_20755_0409 and MAXXMANILLABLUEDIAMONDAPACHE, I get a "no DSM" error. Please help!!!

choose 'build new project' and slect from lower 6.1 pane.

nucksda32 11-27-2008 12:38 AM

Re: 2D manilla on apache?

I try and select a new project. I selected the QVGA_20755.... and click okay, then it tells me that I need to select a device. The only other option on that screen says Apache_6.1 then the old files are on the left. I'm stumpped. I'm sorry, I'm sure this has been covered several times, I'm just not catching something. I even uninstalled and reinstalled my kitchen.

Wurd!!! I got manillaver19 to work!! I'm so stoaked. Now if I want youtube and the weather to bring up my city am I correct in saying that I need to upgrade to the newest version of maxx's manilla build? And isn't that the manilladiamond link that is a few pages back? Oh, and with skins, I want to make/design my own skin. What program am I going to need to do that as well? And where am I copying the .cab file skins on my PPC? Just a random place in any folder that I remember the name? Then when I search, then find it, I want to open it in the location it's in, or am I moving it to a different location?

Yep, just copy them anywhere you want to (the Explore button on ActiveSync dumps you into My Documents, I believe). Just drag-n-drop the cab file over there, then navigate to it on your phone and tap it.
It automatically unpacks & installs for you.

Re: 2D manilla on apache?

Thank you guys for all of your help. I got it up and running really well. I like it. Outside of the wifi thing, I'm totally digging it. I downloaded Skyfire, and it's a zip file. How do I convert it to a .cab so that all I have to do is tap it to install? Also, I have been trying to find the thread that shows how to manually add cities for the weather. Am I opening the file on my PC, or my PPC? I opened it on my PC in notebook, changed my cities.... now I'm stuck. What to do after that? Where am I changing the save name to a .m2dct file??

The skyfire zip file you are referring to is an OEM converted from a CAB file. To get the original cab file, just go to the skyfire website at http://www.skyfire.com/

That OEM was just made so that when cooked in a kitchen with Maxx's Manila OEM, the internet tab would open the skyfire browser instead of Opera.

Uh, that looks like a few questions rolled into one big one if I am not mistaken. Maybe I am, who knows. Anyway, here is the post to add more cities. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=709

.

Yea those guys are great ;)

EDIT:
It was rstoguy who inspired me to continue the OEM for Apache.
Props goes out to him first as I did on page 9, post84
The version of his that worked for the Apache was "MegaPack_Manilla2d_Beta_0.07" from "rstoyguy"
There were features that didn't work on apache so I continued from there.

Here is my final build of manila2D for the PPCkitchen I will post later at http://www.ppckitchen.org hopefully later tonight after i adjust the XML to exclude one more item(my older one).
It has some more system grafics reduced and other theme grafics smoothed out/toned down.
It was remade to have new GUID for kitchen so you can have other version OEMs there.

I 4got to exclude my older version in the XML file, so just dont have both selected.

Now that the latest kitchen is running well and is giving me more space to put more OEMs I recommend re-cooking to all.

Here it is:
EDIT: Updated the xml, smoothed out the clock background & fixed messaging up/down arrows to blue, so if you redownloaded from mourning, to this evening
download, your ok.
EDIT AGAIN: deleted an exclusion in the XML wich users may not have and BuildOS will not find error.
EDIT EDIT INSTRUCTIONS:
Unzip file
goto:
C:\Program Files\PPCkitchen.org\BuildOS\USER_OEM folder
drag unzipped folder "ManilaBlueDiamond2D" into this "USER_OEM folder
close folder
run BuilOS kitchen
select "ManilaBlueDiamond2D" under "Today Plugins"
run kitchen.
If you run into problems, select "new project", and try 20755build kitchen. Build 20755 has more space.

thanks!

Did that..installed it using WM6.1_96DPI_QVGA_20931_0409. WM6.1_96DPI_QVGA_20924_0409 and WM6.1_96DPI_QVGA_20755_0409 and kept getting the "Touch here" loop. Installed the patch that took care of the issues in the past..and still no change. Any ideas?

There should be no reason to install a patch for that kind of thing as that issue should have been fixed in previous versions of manila 2d. Make sure you have no other Today Screen items checked, other than "ManilaBlueDiamond2D".

Are you using the same kitchen? Build 20931 takes up more space than 20755 or previous ones. May I sneak a peek at your selections.txt file?

Used the newest manillabluediamond2d in the kitchen and I get the following error when I try to build the rom:

Code:

"Could not find file C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\hIq Inc\PPC-BuildOS\9.05.3.0Temp\temp\dump\ManillaBlueDiamond2D\imageinfo.bin"
Any ideas?

Re: 2D manilla on apache?

sure I'll run it again. I was using the latest 20931 I believe so I will try it with the 20755. I'll post results / selections text

That did the trick - thanks Dano. I used the 20755 build and bingo. I had no idea the build had grown in size so much, and generally try and use the latest. might want to add this to the step_by_step post above Max ? Im sure others will hit this issue as well....

I dunno about loop unless when running buildOS, it asks you to overright, you must click "yes".
You must also hard reset after flash.

The patch does not work anywhere in the new kitchen at all. That was just for speed problem by implementing an "older services.exe" file, since the newer services.exe doesn't run properly at all unless forced to do so, by a"SafeMode" restart, by "SPB PocketPlus" which makes it run as intended.
However, existing patch in Apache core rar works fine.

I dont think you put manila2D folder in right place for it to say that. Those folders should never be touched.
resart kitchen and use new selections file.

If you think it is my oem image placement settings, just swap out the "HTCHomeSettings.xml" for an older one.
I PMed you some other suggestions.

thanks Max. got your PM(s) and replied. sorry didnt see them sooner. I am going to try again and tweak a few things. there are some amazing new skins for this over @ XDA. have you seen them? there is a new cleaner thread.

Update: ok WOW. I got the newest M2DC loaded and installed some crazy themes. pretty slick. some of these are pretty graphics intensive so cant wait to see how fast they crash :) Im showing 9MB of free program memory right now and 16MB after a reset. haha.

what are you guys showing for available memory?

ok don't know if for some reason i can't copy the folder into my USER OEM folder and have it work....

"user_oem/maillabluediamond2d- error copying module

object reference not set to an instance of an object"

now all i did is unzip it and copy the folder out of it and paste it in the folder.... i do get a confirmation notice to copy some of the files, but i have deleted and redownloaded it many times and have the same issue. tried all the different versions of the kitchen and still cant figure it out... Any thoughts?

this eror comes when it scans the oem folder before it even trys to build it...

Re: 2D manilla on apache?

Regarding Task Manager and M2D -

Not sure if this has been fixed yet. I've been following the thread and other threads dealing with M2D. I've also been looking around for a fix for myself, but haven't found anything. Earlier in the post I did see somebody mentioning the Task Manager apps.

So I decided that I'd post here and see if anybody else has come upon this or not. Once I updated from WM6 to WM6.1 I was having problems with the HTC Task Manager because of the built in task manager (I'm assuming). I recently got it working again, and after having M2D installed for a week or two, I'm starting to miss it terribly, but I really love the M2D =]

Regardless, has anybody had any difficulties or successes with the HTC task manger, either 2.0 or 1.5, and M2D?

Thanks in advance!

I am going to edit my Option.xml wich refers to another oem that is probably not in your kitchen and BuildOS may be looking for it to exclude as i put a reference for it to exclude my other OEm if you had it in the kitchen.

i think that is the problem. gimmy a minute.

EDIT>>> DONE!!.. REDOWNLOAD for those that have this problem & post back!

To be honest, the reason I loved the HTC Task Managers were the cleanliness and the simplicity of them. I've tried various other task managers from different places and developers, and I haven't been able to find anything that worked as well for me. I think it's going to come down to me just getting over my picky ways and choosing a task manager like wktask. I'm gonna give a few more a shot and see if i can find anything similar to the HTC Task Managers.

I've been looking around for this for a while now, and haven't been able to find anything that is working for me. I've tried several different versions of the O2 plus software up to 2.3 within the last hour and have soft reseted upwards of ten times with different settings. If you'd be able to point out the version that you're using or where to find it, that would be nice. I'd like to be able to test this.

I did get the 2.3 software to install and work, but the title bar button in the corner doesn't work with the M2D interface installed on the today screen. It does however show up whithout the interface installed, much like the HTC Task Manager along with other similar managers.

Regardless however, I don't want to hi-jack the thread and turn this thread away from the focus of M2D, and more towards software compatiblity issues. Thanks for your suggestions guys. =]
