nOOb to nk.nbf

First a big "THANK YOU" to all who've made this happen. Now let me be the first to ask for a nOOb-friendly set of instructions on how to use the nk.nbf file contained in the .rar linked in the first post.

If there's a good set here already, forgive me. I dug around but info seemed to be a bit scattered.

EDIT: Think I got it...

Any better links or does this one look good?

TIA and much appreciated!

Can't Login

Hi, it prompts me to login. I type my password that I use for this site, and still no good. Any suggestions?

If anyone has instructions for install, that'd be lovely.

Keep up the good work!!!

Hugs,

Jason

Search for the FTP log in information that is on a sticky here. That'll help you out!

I installed the UPT's 3.5 ROM w/o incident yesterday morning a few hours after this thread was started.

I already had a custom extended rom set to run on the device, installing the following:
Total Commander
vBar
TodayTime
Agile Messenger
deltaLock
PHM Registry Editor
ClearTemp
Livesearch
IBM MIDP20 Java
SmallTime
Adobe SmartFlash

Add to that the post rom installs of:
prssreader
ABCDWeather
Calendar+
Pocket Informant
WM5torage
Kokko's Dial Skin
MS DST Update (not certain if it was included in the base ROM)

After installing the above, and re-syncing outlook items (~8megs) I have 16.30 MB free.

No hard resets needed or storage card disapearances with two full days of use. Looks good to me.

I'd like to extend my gratitude to everyone who spent time bringing this to fruition.

can't install voice command

Everything's working great so far except that when I attempt to install MS VC 1.6 I get an error "Unable to install Voice Command due to insufficient space or insufficient permissions. Free additional device storage space and try again". I have over 24 MB free, so the the free space shouldn't be a problem. Maybe it's trying to change or overwrite something that's read only in this rom?

Nope, I've got msvc 1.6 up-n-runnin' with no probs currently.

Perhaps you need another hard reset...

No big deal, but the old iGuidance problem (program barfs when going full-screen) is back. I'll build a smaller map set today to see if that helps.

I can't find any FTP login information on a sticky (using search function). I hope I don't have to read through 12 pages of threads about things that should be easy to respond to- could someone please just post the login/password?
