Unit disconnecting during Sync cant upload

I set it all up and selected what I thought was correct. After putting device into boot ie record, power & soft reset then the sync stopped and refused to upload.

So I did follow instructions, removed device and put into boot mode, record, power and soft reset. Said Serial but when I hooked up said USB.

Computer found but could not burn the firmware?

Any thoughts?

yeah how about a specific error msg? Are you tryin to flash the phone with a ROM? hat are you trying to upload?

Yes. I am trying to upgrade to 6.1 on my VX-6700. I follow steps. I press record, power and soft reset.

Or I have the unit in sync mode and look to install/upgrade rom then it goes into boot mode and the computer disconnects friom sync mode and boom the unit does not respond.

In usb mode the computer sees it but I cant upgrade the rom/ flash the unit.

I am vaguely following you on this but I know it is because you are new and havent learned the terminology yet.

So you have your 6700 and you want to put 6.1 on it. Why IDK because SO many people have issues with 6.1 on a 67 and you will never notice anything different on the 67 with WM5/6/6.1 but whatever floats or sinks your boat.

I assume you have BuildOS and are cooking your 6.1 ROM and after it is done cooking it opens the Rom Update Utility (RUU) and then you are connecting your 67 right? From that point RIGHT THERE please tell me what is happening and what errors you are getting.

Well I am typing fast and trying to figure things out. If you think its a mistake then forget it.

I thought by adding it it could fix issues like code 37 and so on.

There's two extreemes on this forum. People like the above poster don't like WM6.1 and people who love it. He says so many people have had problems with it, I haven't seen a whole whole lot. But again it's personal preference. I like it because it supports Direct push over WiFi, not an option in WM5. It has threaded SMS outa the box, I like it better than Palm SMS. For me better battery life and no lockups, also haven't had to hard reset. Give it a try. I got a video on how to flash. Second link in my signature.

I love WM6.1 on my 68. Its just I have seen so many issues from WM6 on the 67 and most of it is due to user errors when cooking. But the OP still needs to come back and tell where exactly he is having issues at or if he is still having issues at all.
