Bluetooth suck for anyone else?

I've got the Jabra JX10, had it for a while and never really use it. When I first got the phone and had the original Verizon ROM (2.0?), sound quality and range were excellent. I could be about 30' away and still have great sound quality.

I upgraded to the Verizon 2.2 ROM and quality went down the crapper. I was getting noise in my conversations when the phone was in the holster on the other side of my body. The crappy quality was consistant when moving away from the phone, but range went down to about 10'.

I'm using Sar's 3.5PR6 release now and quality still sucks, but distance is up to around 15'.

IIRC, Verizon dropped the Widcomm stack in favor of MS between 2.0 and 2.2....is my memory correct?

Is it possible to go back to the Widcomm stack with 3.5? I remember reading somewhere that it's not compatible. If it is, does anyone notice an imporovement in sound quality using it?

Or can anyone recommend another BT headset that will work well, good quality and decent range? I own an IT company so I'm always on the phone with some tech support and need both hands free. I never need to be all that far from the phone...10' is usually the max, and I almost always have it holstered when I'm on the phone except when I'm in the truck.

Thanks for your help.
