ya know, i just had the hardest time connecting to the internet with the usb....it kept giving me remote errors. After like 5 tries it connected, but it was weird.

Yeah, it can be a little tricky. I lost my modem drivers on my laptop somehow, so I had to reinstall them. It took me about 5 tries to get on yesterday.

..... I forgot to turn off active sync, then forgot to start them modem before connecting to my PC, then after I got everything done in the correct order, I was able to connect.

This is one of those things that works well if you use it a lot, but you forget the steps if you are not using it on a regular basis.

What I would like to know is if there is a hack for keeping phone calls from interrupting when I am using my phone as an EVDO connection

xclusiv_1 07-31-2006 11:29 PM

question... I was using this the other day and got this error message maybe about 5 or 6 different tims.."DATA CALL FAILURE. ERROR CODE: 1010. DATA SERVICE IS NOT AVAILABLE WHEN DEVICE IS IN TETHERED & BLUETOOTH DIAL UP NETWORKING MODE"... anyone knows what that means?

yes, there is. you can trade your old 6700 for my new one and your problems and my problems will be solved. in the new 6700s phone calls do not interrupt evdo sessions, but i want mine to! i broke my old one, they sent me a new one, now i cannot get calls when i'm using my evdo connection! this is true for any ppc6700 manufactured after april 1 2006. i'm considering getting a 700p (oops did i say that word here?) for that reason alone. i'm so pee-d off about this.

i thought someone said all the new ev-do phones were going to be like this, even the 700p. oh well. 2wyce, go check ur local sprint store for an old one, thats what i did. made the rep do ##786# on a few phones to find one with a pre april manufacture date. then swap it out at the store. i was having legit probs with my other one so swapping wasnt a big issue, but if you have to make up some crap abou the BT or the battery and get that old one.

If you going to swap it out for an older one at the store, it's probably a refurbish. I would rather get a brand new one. If the call is that important, they will call back.

Wideawake 08-04-2006 01:04 AM

wingzero the brand new ones can't do evdo and calls at the same time. ;)

i was expecting a refurb to, but surprizingly both the sprint stores by my house have a large number of ppc with pre april manufacture date that arent refurbs. new in box. maybe its just by me.
