did Sprint change their SMTP server/settings?

the way I have my e-mail set up is to imap to my mail server to retrieve mail. and the smtp server is set to smtp.sprintpcs.com This works well for sending mail, with out making the headers too strange. I only have to send one maybe 2 e-mails a week, but I noticed last week I was getting errors when I tried to send, forcing me to remote into my desktop to send an e-mail.

again my settings having changed, I believe it has worked since I installed Saridnours’ 3.5pr5 (tho honestly I can't be 100% sure on this)

am I missing something simple, or is my personal e-mail about to get a lot more complex just so I can send mail from my phone.

To use Sprint's SMTP server you need to authenticate to it--are you sure you have that set up? It's on the screen where you type in the server addresses (click the Options button and hit Next once, I think).

I have a pretty good knowledge of sprint systems. Most likely since you only use sprint for your outgoing and never query its incoming the system has probably deleted your email account. just log into your sprint manage page from a pc and select 'pcs email' in the box on the right labeled 'online tools'. once you do that the sprint system will recreate your email account and it should start working again. not sure if it will retain your pw. if you never use the incoming you will experience this about every 3months. i do not know sprints exact timeout and i don't think they do either.
