Data Plan / Phone Question

Hey everyone,

I know I'll catch heat for this question and might not get an answer but I just got a Apache and I'm on Verizon. Frankly Verizon's data plans are outrageously expensive and I cannot afford them at the moment. $25 for 10mb/month. $50f for unlimited. My question: Is there a way I can completely block the phone from using the data plan stuff so I don't get hit up per KB ?

Thanks..
I know I'll catch major heat for this but I like the phone...

Re: Data Plan / Phone Question

Covered in this thread http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=33529. Bottom line: if you kill your data connection, you won't get internet, but you won't be able to send/receive MMS or email either.

Re: Data Plan / Phone Question

I simply wiped out the #777 profile and rely ONLY on the wi-fi I have available at work and on my home network. Works like a dream, and I'm not paying VZW anything for data...except text messages. (I'm on the pay-as-you-go plan)

IIRC:
Start > Settings> connections> manage existing connections
then tap & hold on the #777 profile and delete.
