Bluetooth Headset = Choppy Outboud Audio Since AKU 3.5?

I have been hearing more and more complaints from people that i'm talking to when using my BT headset (plantronics 510 and 640 same complaints for both). Everyone says that i go in and out and my voice is choppy at times.

Now when turn off the BT headset and speak directly into the phone, the issue disappears. I also hear complaints that my voice is very low but i know that this was always a known issue with the 6700.

Of course the sound of the other person's voice is perfectly clear on my end with or without the BT headset (in some cases its louder with the BT headset)

I only really started to notice these complaints after upgrading to AKU 3.3 and higher ROMs.

Has anyone else had these problems?

Any suggestions?

I'm runnin saridnours latest, after pairing I went in the reg and changed the chanel for my headset from 2 to 4 that helped with the connection. I also have had good luck turning on the 'Microphone AGC' even though voice command tells you to turn it off. My accuracy in VC seems improved, and people have told me they hear me very well.

That said, I don't know what rom your on, but there are several different threads all over the place about improving mike vol, I seem to remember one in particular @ pdaphone home that gave me good results when I was back on the official rom.

Thanks for the advise, i tried changing those settings, but they never made a difference for me. I never tried channel four though, i went from 5 to 7 and maxed out the mic volume setting. I'll keep trying. Just out of curiosity, which BT headset are you using?

I had similar issues with my Plantronics 655, but had no issues with my 640. I noticed that only with that headset, my voice sounded choppy also- it turns out that I had turned the mic volume up too high! The mic on that unit is much more sensitive than the others and the choppiness was that it was picking up EVERYTHING. After changing the channel and turning the volume down to just a little over default, it sounded great again.
My last 655 died and I just got a new one under warranty- and this one has some sort of "AudioIQ" that hasn't required any tweaking and sounds great as-is.
I also use a Logitech Freedom that has the best sound of all- it's just so darn uncomfortable I can't wear it all the time. We won't even discuss the Motorola 820 that I use for backup.

I gave up on my 655 since all my clients said they couldn't understand me and my voice sounded like crap on that unit. I never tried turning down the mic - didn't know you could do anything but turn down the earpiece. Can you tell me how you turned down the mic? I might take it out of a drawer and give it another try.

I use a Jabra BT800 and I have noticed that both clarity and distance between the headset and the phone has increased before the static goes crazy!

I didn't need to use this in the newer AKUs. I did have a 640 and returned it. Might not be the bluetooth stack or reg entries, as I don't think the Plantronics play too nice with this phone. Or maybe I just had a crappy unit.

unfortunately it seems that our phone has a relatively week bluetooth radio

I'm gonna play with the reg entries before i finally give up on using a BT headset altogether. This is really upsetting because the phone is so close to perfect now with all the breakthrough that we have in ROM customization!

I have the 640 and the 655. The 640 plays well but the 655 does not. I even tried getting a replacement unit and it does not work well with the 6700 -in my opinion.
