Repair Advice: Speaker, Mic, Vibrator

In the space of a week and 2 drops I've lost my speaker, vibrator, mic, and ringer!!!

The earpiece speaker works, but the outer speaker only produces faint clicks and scratches. I've tested the mic by making voice recordings and transfering to PC (no audio), also people calling can't hear anything.

I don't want to bail on this phone yet because Telus has nothing better to offer for me (keyboard, WM, Exchange).

Can anyone give me some guidance on how to attempt a troubleshoot/repair?

Are there people in Toronto repairing these?

It really is easier to buy another one on ebay. It's cheaper to do the work yourself, but it sucks.

I've just started pulling it apart to see if anything obvious is loose... and it sucks already.

Finding a 6700 from Telus network will be tough.

Just don't take the screen apart unless you HAVE to. It seems to cause more problems than it fixes....

Telus won't take outside ESN's. Welcome to the monopoly that is Canada!

I've got it apart, cleaned and confirming connections but I don't see any issues. Where is the mic located?

Okay, I've got a mystery small black piece of soft rubber with the number 27 stamped on one side. Looks like it is a cover of some sort with a slit at one end. Where does it belong?

I'm using this site as a reference but can't see it in the pic's.

Re: Repair Advice: Speaker, Mic, Vibrator

Not sure was wrong other than checking connections and a quick clean but all is well.

I do have a mystery piece of soft rubber left over. Hope it's nothing critical! I suspect it has something to do around the on/standby button.

Hahahaha @ the rubber piece! The first time I took one apart, I got that back where it went. After that, I couldn't remember where it went. It's not really important.

Look at the bottom of your phone, screen up. That tiny hole to the right of the headset jack? That's the mic.
