Re: PPC 6700 radio upgrade

Well I tried the upgrade and no surprise, no change. Oh well, it was worth a try. And are dropped calls a norm on these things? It gets horrible reception unless there is a good strong signal.

Re: PPC 6700 radio upgrade

just all depends on your signal and how much you are getting. I rarely drop but everywhere I go I have good signal. However, when I go to my moms house I dont get good signal and sometimes cant make calls, miss calls and even drop sometimes.

Re: PPC 6700 radio upgrade

Drop calls are direct relation to signal strenght.
When I go to my in-laws, get 1 bar on 1x only....I drop calls there or just don't get the call at all. But if I have 2 or more bars, I rarely drop a call.

Also, drop call can also be from the other end as well, not just your side.

Re: PPC 6700 radio upgrade

even with 1.43 mine does that every so often so upgrading isnt likely going to solve that for you.

Re: PPC 6700 radio upgrade

I replaced my XV6700 w/ another one, and this old one has radio 1.12.00 on it. It takes 20-30 seconds on dialing when you try making a call. Sometimes it will take 3-5. Usually it's above 20+ seconds... I find this rather annoying. Could it be that my phone needs an update? It's running WM5 with 2.06.00WWE (2/22/06).

Thanks.
